Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Gonzo is definately not an alien...MFS was just a movie.
However, the Jim Fralwey screen test IS reality. Some of the finest unscripted Muppet moments ever. There is a difference between real life(Muppetfest, talk shows, Macy's, Hollywood Squares, Walk of fame appearence, etc), canon(TMS...
Oh totally, it is all up for debate. Me personally, I think the Muppets are all actors, like anyone else trying to make it in hollywood. I mean to say the movies and tv show is Muppet real life, then bobo is a bear named Rentro working for some shadowy secret covert government agency...Kermit...
Happy birthday Travis!
I dont know anything about ya(rumor has it I have been in chat with you and in the same room as you at Muppetfest, heh), but anyone who has such a cuddly cute avatar of Grover has to be cool. And yes, its a shame the 49ers didnt win...oh well least the *other* bay area...
Hey, I aim to please^_^
Heh, we won't ask you about that;)
OMG...you wacky folks on here are too much! Who needs sanity anyways?
Hey you're telling me! Just doesnt seem like the fall of 1998 anymore on here. *sigh* magical times indeed
Ack, this item must be really rare then...given JHC is sadly now little more than a broom closet in Manhattan with a handful of employees and a nice stainglass window;)
Heh, either way Kevin...were hardcore Muppet fans...the foot soldiers of celebrating JH' vision and creativity...not shame in proclaiming all that is done in the name of Muppet fandom. Farscape and Star Trek may have their obsessed diehard fans, we got ours^_^
...Though Im hoping to...
Legality schamlity. I'm really tired of all this walking on egg shell legalities. Man I loved the 80's...Im sorry, but there wasnt such a high fence around everything. you could have a movie or special with the Muppets, Sesame and Fraggles. You could have a movie with Disney vs. Looney Tunes...
I havent been to Hot Topic in a few weeks...but if there is one stop Muppet place in the mall(besides EB who has the figures for $8) its Hot Topic. Anyone who cant bring themselves to go in that store isnt a real Muppet fan...as if people only knew of the endless Muppety goodness in that store!
Oh that is but one of many Weezer Muppet shirts...there is also a group shot one, and one of Beaker and Bunsen!
Can't say enough good things about that store. If you call yourself a Muppet fan, it's your duty to check out that store!
Oh gosh, people are still into spandex clad super heroes? *yawn*
Hehe, yeah Comic Book Guy...sadly that character aint no exageration from the conventions and comic shops Ive been to!
Re: The figure returns for another plug!
True, but why the heck did it take so long. I could name a dozen appearences Kermit made(Craig Kilborn, Very Muppet Xmas, Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, Walk of Fame, etc) that JHC could have had Steve plug the figures. Very lame on JHC's part, and I...
I had read this was one of the most out there Muppet performances in recent years, when Cookie was a guest on Martha Stewart. Some really great writing and Frank Oz? Hmmm...I definately need a vhs trade of this Cosby episode, and Muppets on Nightline fer sure!
I can imagine Elmo on Martha...
I remember seeing Grace Under Fire ONCE...it was an episode where they made fun of the black cable guy, had a kid dresslike a skinhead, and made other typical ignorant remarks...it also had the Bubba from In the Heat of the Night. I'm not to sure that tv show was a big hit amongst the African...
Well the CD is too little to late. If folks want Muppet music, be it TMS, movie or Fraggle...just start making vcd and mp3 rips...as we may never see anything more than a few generic TMS cds like the Rhino one.
But yeah, JHC is just *now* promoting these figure? sheesh.
Re: Monkeys and Kermit puppets
Heh, reminds me of this off-off-off-off-off Braodway avant avant garde muscial I have in mind involving puppets, cactus, time portals, and upscale retail fashion pirates int he 17th century;)
Well the genre aint what it used to be...now its your average ten little Indiants post Scream reality tv show concept tough guy rap-metal backed soundtrack bull dookie.
As for films like Country Bears, Snow Dogs, Crocadile Hunter, Kangaroo Jack....*shivers*
Oh totally, I thought it was *exhilarating* to see us mirrored like that...bravo I say! I dont see how any fan could not like that article, very smart stuff.
Well, for all 15 people who read these forums, glad I could be of service^_^
And Nate, it's called satire, not being an a$$.
Obviousy, if fish, cars, rats, etc are in store for us from Pixar, who knows what else is in the pipeline *hides*
