    Got the molar pulled

You made it, Kathy, and way to go! Take two scoops of ice cream and call me in the morning. Are you on Vicodin or something? It is really good for keeping the pain at bay...but don't take too much of it; 'tis wicked potent.

Yeah, if you're fond of Richard Hunt and his work with the Muppets, this is the place to be.

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

(oven timer beeps) MN: Brownies are up. (opens oven door, sending drool-inducing scent through kitchen) Nora: Oh, man, those are going to go quickly. Storyteller: Coming through with the radish bars. MN: How long will those need? Storyteller: About ten, twenty minutes. (pops them into oven...

If heaven is where you can watch all the decent unsold shows, then would the warm place down below be the place where you have to watch all the horrible and overhyped shows that are on the tube these days? (And I pray that none of us will ever be in a position to find out.);)

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

MN: Wow...this site's been up for nine years? Storyteller: Yeah, tempus fugit. And around here, the tempus really does fugit. Nora: Can we go to the party? Please? MN: Oh, sure. It was a rough week last week. Storyteller: Yes...going for a long period of time without a party isn't good for...

    Land of Gorch hatred

Oh, yeah. Wonder what that must have looked like...and the following scene is meant purely in jest, don't ya know. (up in heaven, quasi-present day...) John: What the...grrr...it's those mucking... (starts on a rant) (meanwhile, over on Jim and Richard's usual cloud - best place to keep...

    The RHLC!

So you get the impression that the high muckety-mucks in television don't listen to us...too true, too true. If they did listen to us, there'd be more than just mindless sitcoms and reality shows on the tube these days. But the higher-ups are just concerned with money. And I wonder how the...

    Land of Gorch hatred

And then, years later, the Muppets (as in the Muppet Show Muppets) made a few guest appearances on SNL. I'll bet that when that happened, up in heaven, John Belushi blew a few capillaries...while over on their cloud, Jim and Richard had a good solid laugh.

    The RHLC!

Oooh, Richard must have had lots of fun playing Del. The chance to be shamelessly snarky and get away with it...and Del, like Richard himself, is excellent with kids but has no patience for people with overblown egos. Too bad the show didn't make it to air. Or, it could have been adapted into...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Nora: Kathy really seems to like her walker's new decor job. MN: Yeah, it looks like more than a piece of ambulatory hardware now. Nora: Ambulatory hardware. Nice term. So how was your day? MN: Went to the gym, helped deliver papers, went to my classes, started work on a long-term journalism...

It's good to vent, but I don't seem to do it often enough. I guess that's why I'm a little jittery and fretful sometimes. Chatting on this site helps me work off the daily angst, and so does exercise...and of course, watching the Muppets helps too. Reminds me of something Richard said, when...

    Pan's Labyrinth

Nice to see that the Oscar people have some good taste this year. The film's doing really well with the critics, but it seems to me that most of the media attention this winter has been centered on the big blockbusters like Dreamgirls. I think the film's up for best cinematography, best...

It sounds like she's putting up a good fight...but it must be really rough on her. Once again, tell her we're pulling for her. Sara, you have my complete sympathy about that wedding shower. I always feel really awkward at that sort of thing.

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Nora: Great, another soap boxer. Sam's going to have competition. MN: Yeah, there's one born every minute...and with the Internet and other forms of mass communication, it's practically an epidemic. Now then. We're going to toddle over to Kathy's place to add our own touches to her walker...

    Pan's Labyrinth

I saw Pan's Labyrinth myself this weekend, and I did a review of it for the campus paper. Excellent film, and downright creepy...but I'd never heard of it until I checked the film schedules for that day. It's just so well-crafted; puts most of what's in the theaters these days to shame.

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Nora: So how's it going, reporter girl? MN: Well, I'm glad that I'm going to be getting some more sleep this semester...but in some small way I'm kinda going to miss dealing with the zombies each Monday night. Storyteller: But you'll still be dealing with them, won't you? You're still on the...

1973-4 Scooter plush. I'd like to have one of those...but wait a moment, Scooter didn't make his first appearance until the Muppet Show went on the air in '76. Are you sure about the date, Sara?

Nora: So have they officially set you free yet? MN: No, fearless leader's trying to coax me back. The thing is, the other editors seem perfectly capable of editing their own stuff...and they do a much better job of it than I do, and there are painfully long periods when I don't have anything to...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Nora: You what? MN: That's right. I've quit my editor job and gone back to being strictly a reporter. Storyteller: Well, the way you were staggering in here early Tuesday mornings last semester...and it's your decision, and I think you made the right one. MN: Yeah...and I just felt like I...
