What was the last DVD you bought and why?

I have way too many DVD's on pre-order on Amazon... The Illusionist - the French animated movie that was up for Best Animated Feature this past year at the Oscars. I got to see it in theaters the weekend after Oscar nominees were announced and I loved it. Absolutely brilliant, beautiful...

    Shalom Sesame: Passover

Ah, well the only Shalom Sesames I've seen are a few in the 1990 set of shows (basically besides the Passover one, the ones that don't have Oscar). I, too, would buy the box set as well had it come at a more-affordable price. I can't help but wonder how many Sisu has actually sold... surely...

    Shalom Sesame: Passover

Well, there was only one show after the Passover one. You didn't miss much, just songs. :sing: I'm talking about the last three (Aleph-Bet Telethon, Passover, Kids Sing Israel). I don't know, those last three seem a bit distinct from the others (lack of the actual Rechov Sumsum set, no...

    Shalom Sesame: Passover

I'm pretty sure it is, or even if it's not it's definitely in Israel. I doubt we'll see something like the last 3 Shalom Sesame shows from the last set, which I'm seriously convinced they just shipped the Kippi and Oofnik puppets to NY and filmed those shows in the regular Sesame studios. That...

    Shalom Sesame: Passover

They don't take Muppet inserts and make them English and dubbed Hebrew anymore? Seems like they are trying to have more of a concrete bridge to the American Sesame and Shalom Sesame than the original (where the only chance you had of seeing American Muppets was in mostly-dubbed clips).

    Wild Thornberries DVD (interesting development)

Shout! Factory announces Nick show #3, this time we have a live-action show. http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Hey-Dude-Season-1/15239 I'll probably have to pass, I have no recollection of ever watching Hey Dude as a kid and don't want to blind buy it. I hope Shout! gets around to releasing...

    Sesame Street Season 42 News

Caroll Spinney said Katey Perry was going to make another guest appearance season 42 but who knows how that ended up working out now, he said that back in October.

Why Did I Ever Watch This?

Pretty much every post-1964 Hanna-Barbera cartoon. With a few exceptions (particularly Wacky Races), I can't stand that late 60's/70's HB stuff anymore yet I ate all those Scooby-Doo ripoffs and wooden Yogi Bear offshoots as a kid. Inspired by this post, I rewatched Cousin Skeeter. Yeah, this...

Why Did I Ever Watch This?

Pokemon, oh yes, Pokemon. I haven't really watched a lot Nick's live-action shows since they disappeared but I'm sure if I watched them now I'd find them really stupid. Surprisingly, when I was able to acquire a lot of Muppet Babies episodes when I was 13, I was incredibly underwhelmed by it...

April Fools: Muppet movie trailer leaked!

That's right! Some lucky guy was able to leak the footage shown at CinemaCon and put it on YouTube. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5iZE6-a9jU

April Fools: Old School Vol. 3 DVD, CD and more coming!

So I recently had an internship interview at Warner Home Video and the guy doing the interview was pretty much the guy in charge of handling the Sesame Street titles at Warner Home Video. After we discussed what massive Muppet/Sesame fans we are, I asked him if there was anything he could...

What went wrong with Muppets from Space?

I honestly think the entire blame goes on Tim Hill and the fact that this film went through way too many writers. I'll come clean and honest: I like the fact that this movie has no songs. There's no need for them. In the Rhino compilation CD years ago, they actually said in the booklet they had...

    Lots of MUP3's, Wanna Trade?

It might be a CD rip - but if it is it's not a very good one. Or it might be off a cassette. Bottom line - it's not so hot. :(

    Lots of MUP3's, Wanna Trade?

I've downloaded that one before and I really don't like the audio quality, it's not very good. I'd prefer someone who actually owned the CD to rip it for me or if anyone has a really good quality copy of it in MP3 form, I'll take it.

Is It Normal For A Diz Film To Have No Hype?

Disney announced yesterday that the teaser for Brave will be attached to Cars 2. Unless studio policies have changed, film studios are only allowed to attach one trailer for an upcoming release to the head of their movie theatrically, I guess this means the first trailer for The Muppets will...
