    For Richard or Poorer

(chuckle) JD: Come on, King Henry, let's leave these two lovebirds alone. RH: Your face, Rocky Top. And then John tells Richard to leave his mother out of it...great lines, Ed, great lines.

    The RHLC!

Oh, I know - and you know, I've always found MTM to be a difficult movie to watch. It's all the emotional ramifications and stuff. I would have wanted more of the sight gags and visual puns that you see in the first two. And you know something - when I saw MTM for the first time at age 6 or...

    The RHLC!

Gone are the days when Scooter would cite his uncle's connections. By Muppetvision 3-D, it would have been, "J.P. who?" And Scooter is growing up - after all, Kermit's left him in charge of the pre-show, and he's trying to keep order. And as for Scooter sounding like Kermit - well, in Of...

    The RHLC!

Either way, whether or not he knew the kid and the mom, it shows that Richard had his priorities in order when it came to young fans. After all, he did once tell Jerry, "Can you imagine the effect this has on a child's mind?"

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Scooter: It was during Muppetvision 3-D, and the pre-show. Gonzo tricked me into leaving the room by telling me that the phone was ringing - and the thing was, there wasn't a phone. Erin: Yeah, Gonzo just wanted the monitors to himself so he could do his tap dance routine - with clones and...

    The RHLC!

Hmm, I don't remember hearing anything other than applause at the end of "Just One Person," ('course, I only listened to it twice) but that certainly does sound like something Richard would say. ;) And it's like Jane, Jerry and Amanda have all said: Richard certainly had a way with children...

    The RHLC!

Yeah, well, that's Disney for you. And I mean - that's one of the last moments with all the principal Muppet performers working together, so of course the fans would want to see that. Oh, yes, Scooter is definitely following in Kermit's footsteps (or flippersteps) there. As in the Lynn...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Storyteller: (looking at watch) Okay, everyone, you can work for another hour, but I want to see everyone take a break, okay? Beige: And I want you guys to pick up rocks the minute break's over, okay? Nora: What? Beige: Never mind - I just had to say that a lot when I was security Fraggle...

    The RHLC!

Just had a quick scan of the remarks on RateItAll...grrrr, how dare they call our Scooter a sissy? (pause) Wonder what'd they'd be writing if Richard's spirit dropped in and let loose with a barrage of "Your face!" ? But wow, I didn't know he started venting like that during the Rhyming Song...

    Funniest Fraggle Moments

Well, I really like the episode with the Poohbahs - I mean, the whole bit with them calling each other Fritz is a nod to the Bruce sketch in Monty Python. I also like the two languages, uffafluff and ubidah (did I spell that correctly?). And of course, Philo and Gunge are good for a chuckle.

That's right - in that one Pigs in Space sketch, he's in there telling the cast to get back to the script (but the cast mistakes him for the hideous invader and attacks him), and then in Muppetvision 3-D, "We...have...no...phone!" I love that line - guess I'll make that the new signature...

    The RHLC!

"I gotta get her outta there, I gotta!" I know, he's just perched up there on his ledge, listening sadly to Mokey's song, and then he just can't take it anymore. I agree - it would have been nice to see what touches Jim and Richard would have added to the film. But then, Dave said that "both...

    Your Favourite Muppet Christmas Song?

Well, I got a big kick out of the Muppets' take on The 12 Days of Christmas, of course, with Miss Piggy "hogging" the spotlight on "five golden rings." And of course I like hearing Scooter sing "The Peace Carol" with John Denver.

    The RHLC!

And in one article written just after Jim's death, Richard told the reporter that Kermit was to the Muppets what Jim was to the performers. Yes, Richard loved to play the smart-alecky tough guys...and yes, they almost always have a gentle side. I mean, we see Beige's security Fraggle facade...

Okay, Scooter is the name of my laptop, so where does that put me? ;)

    The RHLC!

That's right; the Muppets are funnier - not to mention cheaper - than a therapist. Plus, the sofas in the performers' lounge seem more comfortable than the standard shrink's couch. And Scooter leaned in and asked, "Who do you belong to?" And after the Swedish Chef sketch: Kermit: Scooter...

Sesame Street Old School DVD's: Not For Kids

Right: the Henson crew and CTW intended Sesame Street to be a supplement to what the kids learned from their parents and in school - not a complete replacement. The purpose was to get adults and kids down in front of the set together, so they could discuss it afterwards. And you know - as...

    The RHLC!

The article got my attention because it listed Richard as "Richard H. Hunt" instead of "Richard Hunt," the way most other obituaries did. That might have been how I heard about his middle initial - and now we know that the reporter needed to distinguish between father and son. True...Richard...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Scooter: (doing bio homework) Didn't I hear Ed telling someone to be on guard whenever we were home? Storyteller: Hmm...well, seeing as you people are wrapped up with homework, I don't think we'll have to worry about too much mayhem from you for a bit. Nora: (still reading up on 19th-century...

    The RHLC!

Heralde: just found the article you mentioned. I went looking through one of the academic databases on the library's web site. At the bottom, after listing Jane and the others as the survivors, it says, "His father, Richard B., died in 1976." And then it goes on to list the details of the...
