The Muppets at Walt Disney World

*bump* Does anyone who saved the Muppets @WDW or Muppets Remember Jim Henson files have the ability to put them on mediafire.com or any other hosting site?

The Magic Of The 1987-1990 Era

Heh, I should have made this post "1986-1990", because looking at 1986(the amazing final episode of fraggle rock that still brings tears to my eyes for instance) that did seem to be a turning point. As well with Muppets Celebrate 30 years. This is why I consider 2010 such a turning point; as...

Will an Unedited MFC ever be commercially released on DVD?

Yeah, it'll probably never happened. Just not enough demand from where they're sitting. Also, didnt the Emmett Otter remove Kermit's parts? Very odd. Back in 2003 or 2004 I believe, some tenacious Muppet fans on here seamlessly edited the 2001 dvd release with the missing parts via the UK...

The Magic Of The 1987-1990 Era

As per our annual tradition, my family and I watched a lot of late 80's Muppet specials and episodes for Christmas eve/day. And I was wondering if anyone else feels there's a certain special magic about the gang in the 1987-1990 period, right before JH's passing? As I know this may be...

Will an Unedited MFC ever be commercially released on DVD?

I got ahold of good quality version of the complete 1987 MFC, and edited together a montage of all the deleted clips and scenes...and I was surprised at the fact this totals a good seven minutes plus completely gone from the late 2001 dvd release. Which is totally strange to me. 7 minutes is a...

    Jim Hill: Muppets Officially Back

As a *huge* fan of both the Muppets and Office, that would be cool to see. I'm hoping Sesame Street spoofs the Office someday. Also, the Office has made a LOT of Muppet and Sesame references over the last 5 seasons. I do know they did a mini series done in a mockumentary style a few years...

    Any Big Mean Carl fans?

Yep, and didn't Bobo kind of exist as of 1984 as an "anything bear" in TMTM? I remember Carl made his debut(I think) in an early 90's business tape sketch of some sort.

Why Did Boom! Change Their Paper?

I'm an 80's(and 90's) kid, but some of the retro stuff bugs me...like intentionally faded/messed up t shirt graphics at $22 a shirt. By the way, do you know if you're exclusive cover for the TMS comic #1 is available anywhere? I know they only made about 500, I just loved that art on...

Why Did Boom! Change Their Paper?

LOL! You're talking about quarter bin comics one could find around 1989/1990! I remember in the late 80's grabbing a ton of anthropomorphic comic titles(Miami Mice, Fish Police, Radioactive Hamsters, etc) and absolutely loving those. I have fond memories of those...long live 80's inide comics...

Why Did Boom! Change Their Paper?

Oddly enough, some new titles have the most mindblowing art and have an insane amount of pages("double issues) yet are still $2.99-$3.99 range...yet some are about 15 pages of art, and almost double that in pages. The amazing thing is that ANYONE even still buys comics anymore. Despite comic...

Well, depending...he is definitely a contrarian. I find it funny that even though Sam was created in the early 1970's, his outright cartoonish spoof of uptight "moral majority" right wing conservative politicians is as true now as it was back then.

The Muppet world is filled with "bad guys" though. Usually two handed or full bodied monsters, or characters like Carl The Monster. Oscar the Grouch, the Gorgs, Uncle Deadly...heck Swedish Chef when he's chasing after that Turkey. By "bad", I don't mean outright villains per se, but a...

Funny thing is, Sesame Workshop put out a gay Bert and Ernie shirt as part of Hot Topic's newer gay youth line they were trying. If I recall it had the heads of Bert and Ernie with a rainbow on the front and some catch phrase. Of course I've also seen at Hot Topic a spoof of the popular...

Was this a conflation of Richard Hunt's passing a mere two years after Henson's death? I think perhaps that may be the source of the mix-up? I met Richard Hunt's sisters, they couldn't have been nicer and I can only imagine what a kind talented person Richard was, as well as JH himself.

Why Did Boom! Change Their Paper?

I don't think it's too much. I rarely buy comic books, so I don't mind(most the art in comics seems horribly stuck in the early 1990's) It's just I woulda paid an extra 50 cents to have them maintain the slick glossy vivid color paper instead of the rough sandpaper pap.

Why Did Boom! Change Their Paper?

I really don't mean to nitpick, as it's amazing to walk into any comic store and see a whole mess of Muppet titles that have come out in the last year. But something that's kind of bugged me is how Boom switched from the standard slick glossy pages to a kind of rough course paper where it...

Oh Sesame Workshop put that label on their "old school" dvds themselves. I guess, modern parents are horrified at the sight of inner city kids in real inner city neighborhoods or something.

, and I couldn't help but think... when? When did we ever see that character in merchandise? I know they mean well, but when people ask if a character was in any commercially available merchandise that doesn't exist... well, it gets me annoyed that it doesn't exist myself. I don't see the...

I agree, I can't blame people for not knowing Disney owns the Muppets. The news of their buy was almost 6 years ago, and it has fallen way back into people's memory. And they insist on pupping "Muppet Studios" or "Muppets Holding LLC" on all the products or ads/clips/sites, which I think is kind...
