Well Barney was a brand new show. Sesame Street had been on for several years and it's hard to maintain that level of consistent success. Plus Sesame Street had lost some of its most valuable performers.
I really blame parents for not thinking very deeply when it comes to their kids and Television. Something looks bright and colorful and they're sold on it being quality and harmless.
I mean I can understand there's more important things to think about, like supporting the child financially and...
Funny you say that because I remember one time during the closing credits of Hey Dude the announcer pondered how much Mr. Ernst and Artie looked alike, lol. They weren't the same actor but after hearing that I started wondering, lol.
I honestly have no problem with those kinds of disclaimers. There are logical, historical reasons behind them. I saw none with the Sesame Street Old School disclaimers, lol.
Doesn't surprise me; ABC Family is pretty brutal when it comes to cutting scenes for time. I learned this during their 25 days of Christmas programming, lol.
