Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Aw, Pepe's great. It's just that poor Pepe, Gonzo and Kermit have really been the main guys keeping Muppetdom going for so long and are all considered first string cast. No matter what, Pepe is not nor never will be near the all-eclipsing Elmo route. The Muppet Studios folk seem to understand...
I'm cool with the date. It ties the Muppets together with the Christmas season where they're always successful. However, they canceled the Halloween special this year to focus on a film 19 months away? I hope they come up with some goodies before then.
I'm glad it worked out. Good looking collection. Can't believe the smart blur worked so well on that image. I think they used that picture for a Denny's campaign or something around that time. I remember seeing that large, but not a cut-out. Anyway, looks good. What's that Gonzo from again...

That assistant is actually Mulch from the classic Muppet Show as seen in the Debbie Harry episode. You don't get more classic era-Muppet than that, but MT is what made him stand out. :super:
Here are the only Henson-related movie budget listings I could find.
MirrorMask $4M
Muppets From Space $24M
Muppet Christmas Carol $12M
There are no huge star salaries, so this $100M will mainly service the picture itself. Keep in mind that 3D nearly doubles the cost so this is like a...
I agree. I had a customer come in the toyshop the other day and she claimed that Janice was based on some acting teacher she once had who looked just like the beloved Richard Hunt character. The teacher professed to be tight with Jim and that the design was inspired by her. Um...we know...
The concern some fans have about what could or could not be happening in the off-screen private lives of a couple of puppets never ceases to amaze me. I think the fear speaks for itself.
This wink and nod toward the two roommates is a concept that will always be floating around pop culture...
