Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Interestly enough, I pulled out the Muppet Show Book (a copy of which I also sent to Ken earlier) to see how they portrayed the Pigs In Space costumes and they were Blue and White. Were they Blue in earlier episodes? Sadly there were no full body pictures there.

followed by any and every other Muppet who has yet to be marketed as a figure in the past whose time has now come. Onward my fellow 2nd string muppets. Together we'll shine.
In regards to Star Wars, at what point does parody fair-use cross into copyright violation? I thought as long as something is done as a parody it is not held by the same copyright laws. I could understand still preferring to get permission and keeping parties involved happy, but let's say for...
I've been confused over the deal as well. All I know is that if Pixar moved into their own entity, they would no longer own the rights to the characters of their movies with Disney. So if they did separate (which I hope they do) no more Toy Story films--at least from Pixar.
Same thing just...
Dates are different in Canada? Did you switch to the metric calendar there?
Hey Crazy Ernie, I used to be a developer on a failed Bionicle PC game. We had all the bionicle guys months before they came out in the stores. Unfortunately the game was a piece of doodie and Lego came to their...
I know nothing about Speed Racer, but I did want to ask you about your MST3K bender? I was actually just watching Eegah last night. Have you heard of the MST3K Dap? If not, go to www.dapcentral.org. It's a on-line community of people who are digitally preserving and sharing MST3K episodes...
Fantasia sort of set the standard for Disney's platinum releases both in content as well as in precedent for re-releasing to IMAX and theaters before releasing on disc. Disney did an outstanding job on the 3 disc set.
All Pixar discs have been wonderful as well and were probably the...
Maybe when Michael Eisner gets booted out they'll reconsider. It sort of makes sense to release a special version after promoting a theatrical re-release, but 10 years is definitely way too long. After what they did with their recent release of Disney movie classics like Pollyana and Old...
Platinum Editions
Disney seems to be on a trend of re-releasing their upcoming Disney Platinums to IMAX at the beginning of the year and then bringing them out on super-deluxe Platinum version. I believe it's been stated somewhere what the first bunch will be, but not in order. However, since...
It all depends on taste. Crank Yankers is prank phone calls reimagined with puppet actors. That's pretty much it. It's not a show for puppet fans, it's a show for prank fans. The puppets themselves are very Henson-esque but are often inolved in suggestive situations. There's even puppet...
How 'bout that Small Wonder chick? Whatever happened to her? I still wake up screaming from time to time with that theme song stuck in my head.
"She's a Small Wonder..."
Oh, and let's have a shout out to my favorite character from the cute 80's:
The Peculiar Purple Pie Man from...
Yeah, what's up with the thumbnail images? I could barely see the winning entry.
Anyone else have trouble loading some of the runners up? Netscape asked me if I wanted to d/l something rather than display an image for a couple of them.
Re: Fall TV sched.
I'm not sure of the title, I think it's "Do Over." I know nothing other than the premise which is about an adult who gets to go back to 1981 and repeat high school all over again, except retaining all his memories of his adulthood and prior experience in High School. A bit...
Bottles o' Rum for everyone! Yarrrrr!
So who likes "Ice Pirates"? Did anyone notice how it was conspicuously missing from most of Robert Urich's biography write-ups at his death? How could they dismiss such a classic? Arrrrrrr! Blow me down!
Or who could forget "The Pirate Movie"...
If you were a TRUE fan you would know that "Spinal Tap" does not go under the 'S' category but under 'T' for its true title "This Is Spinal Tap" It used to be a pain trying to track it down in video stores never knowing where they'd place it alphabetically--and then sometimes they'd throw me...
