My problem on the whole "cheapquel" debate is not that sequels to cartoons are bad. On the contrary, sometimes a sequel can be a good thing. Some stories/characters/situations lend themselves easily to futher adventures. I mean no one has to look further than "Toy Story 2" to see how...
I've got a Dr Teeth with two right hands. Handy for playing the pianee.
Weird thing was, I've been repainting that figure for weeks now (to make my own WW variant.) and only just noticed the error a few days ago.
Amen to that. It's sad that you can't even mention making something termed "adult" or "mature" without it either being "perverse" or "juvenile." Making "adult cartoons" just sounds bad. They need a term for broad audiences that can contain both audiences without playing down to either one...
Hey Quinn, did you ever see this:

This is probably the only instance where I've ever been excited about an Anime project.
Yes, I think that's part of the movie production code these days. Farts & explosions. Ya gotta have 'em. I'm surprised there aren't many movies were the farts and the explosions interact more.
There are specifics about how much a film has to be animated to be considered "animated." Because so many of the major characters in Stuart Little were CGI animated, it definitely fits within the criteria.
I'm pretty unimpressed with the offerings this year. I'm glad there are so many...
I think the re-release into theater thing is dying because of an inherent shift in the way our culture watches movies. When we were kids the VCR was something new, so up to then the only way to see movies was in the theater or broadcast on TV. And there was no way to see it again once it was...
Just out of curiosity, Quinn, where do most of these pictures originate from? You've got some really cool design ideas architecturally speaking with the ships and temples. Do any of these come from my favorite doodling environment: church meetings? It's like while other's are getting...
I still can't find myself in the middle of gathering up the family to put them in the car without the sound of Twiddlebugs in my head singing out "The Family Car!"
Other than that, haven't seen them. But I haven't watched anything much Sesame related in a while.
They're finally showing up in Texas. Reports from Austin the other day, now they've all shown up in Dallas in both EB and Suncoast/Sam Goody including playset and Vacation Fozzie at Suncoast.
No sign of them at any TRU's, though.
That "direct to video" line scares me tremendously. The last thing I want is Muppet films put out like "Land Before Time XXIII: LittleFoot's Revenge." Yes, there is a market for this type of product, but seldom is it ever a good product--and it's almost never for anyone other than kids, unless...
