Quick question: Why did Jim Lee's Mirage TMNT from 1996 lack Raphael? That never made sense to me. And YES, I love Tokka and Rahzar. The only redeeming thing of the 1991 bleepquel. (I loved how they resigned those two characters a few years ago)
Btw is there a single comment poster on AICN...
Well I would say you've convinced me of your point, which I actually do agree. It's just I agree more with Drtooth's take that it was intentional trope playing. Especially the paper thin plot tying Ty Berrel and Sam the Eagle into the plot. For me the performance/cinematography/dialogue of the...
TMM 1979 and TMTM 1984 just feel like they are set in the real world. And it's amazing, a real naturalistic look, almost what one would call and indie look. I never get tired of just observing the cinematography.
Now a few years ago, at one of those Regal/Cinemark/AMC/big chain summer things...
I thought the 1990 film, least for the time was 'dark and gritty', and to some degree the 2007 film. I hold both those films in very high regards, and was quite shocked at how much I loved the 2007 Imagi film. They went into production with Astro Boy and Gatchaman soon after(which never came...
Yep. And they werent from netflix or dvd or blu ray but OLD vhs tapes on an old tv. The writers definitely get it. Also loved the Jerry Nelson announcer was back. Not sure if they used a loop of TMS or 2011 Nelson voice? Either way, a great loveletter to the classic cast. I mean Scooter sounds...
THANK YOU! Yes. " I think this one got pretty darn close to the feel of a classic Muppet film." Now of course it's a darker film, has a hollow fake plot, feels weird with Kermit not being in a lot of the movie/with the main characters, and feels off in the plot. But it's the vibe, look, and...
Yes but the writers play with even THAT notion at the end. Don't you remember the scene with Kermit, Fozzie and Walter at the end? "Yeah, it was that bad". They're making fun of the Clark Kent trope of how noone noticed it wasnt Kermit. The whole film is extremely self aware without abusing the...
I don't get the MTM hate from fans. It was the first Muppet film I saw in theaters, but it's the one I've seen the most. (tho I agree TMM is a more classic, better film) But I just love every scene and line of dialogue in TMM. Plus I LOVE(am obsessed with) the 1980's. The whole "peoples is...
I've been watching the Muppets and Jim Henson related programming for over 30 years now, but is it me or are the Muppets just funnier in the modern era? Maybe it's a mixture of now understanding the subtle and not so subtle adult or deeper humor of the old productions, but I also mean in the...
You mean The Muppets Take Manhattan? It's my favorite Muppets film and I LOVE the wedding scene, but it's not canon. Nor is Gonzo an "alien", nor Kermit a pirate. My point is that at some point, Disney is going to have to put on a wedding sort of publicity stunt or just drop the whole thing. To...
People who didn't care for this movie, I'm convinced, saw a different cut of the film than I did.
I mean this thing has so much to make a hardcore fan giddy...it's smart and self aware without abusing breaking the 4th wall like the last one. From the Muppet Babies/answering the kermit and...
Oh this movie was fan service top to bottom. I can understand purists or casual fans not liking the script or the setup, but to say it didn't feel Muppety is so far off base. This film to me was steeped in self awareness without abusing the fourth wall breakage.
And yes! Loved the Muppet Babies...
Well looks like they tossed out some of the dialogue and are replacing all of Splinter's lines with actor Tony Shaloub and Leonardo is now Johnny Knoxville
Meanwhile a fan using photoshopped made what the turtles SHOULD look like...
I love the K/P relationship, but it's like. Just get married already. Block off the hollywood walk of fame, do a whole saturday thing with ET/TMZ/etc and let's move on. Don't you get annoyed when every single press junket interviewer and talk show hosts says "So....what's up with you and miss...
Mix the scale/articulation/look of the 1978 Fisher Price figures, the 2003 Jack in the Box figures and the amazing 2011-2013 Star Wars Muppet figures. And make ALL of them. Star Wars style(as in, Kenner and Hasbro has made every single Star Wars character...and then some)
All of them...
Reading this makes my day:) For me, MMW is the best Muppet film right under the original and TMTM.
Also have fun in LA! I love going to LA when I can. Was bummed I missed the red carpet premiere, though my friend went and said you could barely see the characters, and it was only briefly(unlike...
