Scooter Appreciation Thread For The Most Underappraciated, Disrespected Muppet of Ever

I should hope so. I cast Scooter as Argyle, the limo driver, in my Muppets/ Die Hard fan fic which I plan to write sometime...at some point.

Scooter Appreciation Thread For The Most Underappraciated, Disrespected Muppet of Ever

Yeah, Scooter was definitely a main character on TMS itself, and he really got a boost from the cold openings in seasons 2-4 as well.

Hmm, I did not know that about Rudman. You learn something new every day.

    Favorite Muppet of all time

Ugh, it's a tie for me between Kermit and Scooter, but since Kermit always gets a lot of votes in fan polls, I chose to vote for Scooter, who seems to do poorly in fan polls (at least more mainstream polls, like an Entertainment Weekly poll or somesuch).

Scooter Appreciation Thread For The Most Underappraciated, Disrespected Muppet of Ever

Yeah, that's a good point. I still wish he wouldn't have vanished after Richard's untimely death, but if The Muppets is anything to go by, it looks like they're bringing him back full time.

Scooter Appreciation Thread For The Most Underappraciated, Disrespected Muppet of Ever

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I got the impression that Scooter was initially retired after R. Hunt's death out of respect, since Scooter was his biggest character, but I think said retirement also severely hurt the character's popularity. It also seemed kind of odd for the JHC to retire Scooter...

    Best New Muppet Poll

Yes, I didn't think Bobo seemed as obnoxious or in-your-face as some of the other new Muppets from Muppets Tonight, namely Pepe. And despite being paired with the bad guy in several projects, he remains a likeable character. I think both Pepe and Clifford suffered from overexposure. I think...

    Best New Muppet Poll

Yes, all of the Muppet musicians seem very laid back and cool, even Rowlf, who certainly prefers classical music to the Rock N' Roll that Electric Mayhem and Solid Foam performs. I believe Cliff was originally a member of Solid Form, the band from JHH, but appeared as a member of Electric Mayhem...

Your Thoughts: "The Muppets" Theatrical Film

I don't really consider Doc Hopper a "black hat" villain. He actually has a clear motivation, which I don't think is evil in and of itself; he wants a good spokesman so he can get his fast food chain off the ground. In the film's beginning he doesn't start off so bad, he offers Kermit money and...

The movie could have been even better (article)

I've heard talk of a JHC movie in the works where it's like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, where Muppets are treated like second-class citizens. Although I don't think a movie with such a dark tone w0uld feature The Muppets, but rather JHC puppets. Who Framed Roger Rabbit is actually quite a dark...

    Best New Muppet Poll

Wow, Walter really has a strong lead. As for "new" Muppets who are still a decade old or more, Bobo has the lead. I liked him in the new film, and Bill Berretta does a great job with him.

Your Thoughts: "The Muppets" Theatrical Film

Ugh... I hate even thinking about the Henson Company's CGI kid's shows like Dinosaur Train or Sid the Science Kid. I wish they had the brass to do a new show with Creature Shop creations. You said "No one is EVER going to be happy with any Muppet film that isn't the first three," but I...

Your Thoughts: "The Muppets" Theatrical Film

Yeah, I sort of had a similar falling out w/ Star Wars. I lived and breathed SW for several years when I was I kid, then when Episode I came out in 1999 I stopped caring and moved on to comic books as my new hobby. The Muppets and the world of Jim Henson in general have been with me since I was...

    Muppets Cast in Other Movies

A New York rom-com with a Muppet in it I could definitely see, not so much an indie film, at least not if you're talking about an actual Henson/ Disney authorized Muppet.

A Charitable Cause for Your Consideration

I found out about this from a news blurb on the all-things-geek site Toplessrobot.com. Frank Oz worked on a new Muppet movie script

Ach, there hasn't been a good Muppets TV special (at least in my opinion) since Muppets Go to Disneyworld. Their music videos and web spots have been quite good, however, so there's always that avenue.
