Re: Reply
Actually, the SESAME STREET books from TIME-LIFE that I am referring to are loonnnng out of print. (They're copyrighted 1970!)
But you can still find them on Ebay.
They came in a set of five:
THE SESAME STREET BOOK OF PEOPLE AND THINGS
THE SESAME STREET BOOK OF...
I have an answer to this Cookie Monster question.
Originally, in the early years of Sesame Street (we're talking 1969), Cookie Monster (who was blue-ish green) was just addressed as "Monster" and didn't speak. If he did, he made incoherent grunts. And I believe Carroll Spinney actually...
Well, I think that "Brown Grover's" name, or nick-name was FUZZY-FACE.
Reason why is because in the 1969 sketch with him and Kermit, he is addressed as "Fuzzy-Face."
Bad News about LINDA BOVE
Linda Bove is not in the end credits of this season of SESAME STREET, so it can be assumed that her 32 year affiliation with the show has officially come to an end.
Poor Bob.
By my count,
Linda Bove was in 3 Sesame Street episodes this past season (episode numbers unknown).
- the episode where Zoe asks Rosita to teach her Spanish? Linda Bove gets splashed by Fuzzy, Oscar's pet elephant. This occurs in the middle of the episode.
- the epiosde where Bob and...
Yes, I remember this!
Believe it or not, I've seen it on Sesame Street Unpaved, from their 1974 episode where Count climbs up the Sesame Street lightpost and counts the lights in the neighborhood turning on and off.
The reason why I'm pretty sure about the date of this piece is cause when I...
Herry Monster had a blue nose for the 1970-1971 season, and then gained a purple one after that.
Remember that skit with Herry and John-John doing "up and down"? That was done in 1972.
So blue-nose Herry only existed for a short while.
If you ever see the Muppet Alphabet Album from...
OK, so far they've found several understudies to carry the following Muppets into the millenium:
Big Bird: Matt Vogel
Ernie and Kermit: Steve Whitmire
Grover: Eric Jacobsen (VERY good job)
Cookie Monster: David Rudman
Bert: Eric Jacobsen
but these Muppets haven't been spoken for yet...
That's a fine point, but Big Bird and Oscar have appeared together even as recently as this past season, so question is:
which Henson performer has the honor of assisting Carroll nowadays? (Richard Hunt, rest in peace.)
(On a side note, BOTH Muppets must take their toll on poor...
This skit appeared on Sesame Street Unpaved. I believe it was as early as in one of the 1970 or 1971 shows, but I remember: At the end, the two hands clap together.
I have a question about the oldest trick in the book: How Big Bird and Oscar appear together at the same time.
What intrigues me is which character does Carroll Spinney opt for when this situation presents itself?
And futhermore, the voice of both characters, when they appear onscreen...
