projectpuppet.com has simple patterns that include basic mouth structure patterns. Also, the book "puppet planet" has a few different ways of doing mouths. It is available on amazon.

Ive always ran a hot glue bead around the inside lip and stuck it directly. My puppets have a few miles on them and I havent had a problem yet.

Using a needle put a small hole in one side of the PP ball near the seam. Use a sharp pair of scissors to trim along the seam line. Its very easy. Peace :)

I completely agree and have always said all along that the type of light used is (of course) essential. Filters are available for any handycam or stills camera that has the thread for it in front of the lens. There are filters for almost anything. Color filters, sparkle filters, low light...

If you have the rolly pattern I have a mod to that pattern to create hair from long pile fur (it is a new template that fits with the old template) and is an easy sew on step that retains the muppet style look. I can send this mod to you if you desire, just leave a PM. Peace :)
