    TV experience?

Here's what I'd suggest -- get a video camera (borrow it if you have to) -- and make a "demo" of what you have in mind. I'd write up something beforehand and ask friends to help out. As far as a set goes, put up a sheet on the wall to make a neutral background. It doesn't matter if this attempt...

    Henson Polar Bear Puppet

    Wow!

    Finished Ernie Replica

One question -- how did you do his collar and cuffs? Did you find a quilted fabric somewhere, or did you do that from scratch? I have to do that sort of thing for some of the wardrobe on some of my puppets and I'd love to be able to buy it off the shelf instead of having to make a bunch of...

    Finished Ernie Replica

That looks great! If you wanted to "fix" that right hand, you could try putting wire inside of the fingers to make it a little more articuated -- that way you pose it in a realistic way. I think it looks great as it is, though! When do you think you'll start Bert? Ernie looks awfully...

    Henson Polar Bear Puppet

If you look at the part where the girl and the blond haired guy get their picture taken, I think both arms go limp for a second as the puppeteer changes hands. He shook the hand of the guy that's done posing with his left hand, then when the girl and the guy walk up, she holds out her hand to...

    Iatse?

Thanks! I guess I teeter on the line -- I work professionally as a freelance puppet designer (conceptual art side of things) on things like the recent NIKE MVPuppets commercials (I designed all of the characters except Labron, Kobe and Lil Dez), as well as a few other projects. But as far as...

    Iatse?

I had no idea you were so high in the Animation Guild! What do I have to do to get my foot in that door? Maybe I could give you a few more lines in our little movie? ;) Kidding -- but wish I could someday make a real living in the Entertainment industry -- instead of perpetually faking it.

    Damaged Puppets?

I think that the Gonzo head was a specific build for that gag -- probably trimmed to that specific twist and never used again. The one cool thing is that once shot, parts of that Gonzo probably ended up in other puppets (since the bodies are typically a separate piece) and the eye mechanism...

    Henson's "Personal" Kermit?

This should be required viewing for anyone that owns a poser.

Modified Animal & Gonzo photo puppets

It's amazing how much more Animal looks like Animal now that he's a puppet -- do you think the poser puppet had too much stuffing in his head? Great work! What's next? Fozzie?

How to Make a Rizzo Poser

I'd resist the urge to start selling these, unless you want to hear some serious backlash -- and since you're suing someone else's patterns as a starting point. Just a warning!

    Comic con

I'm boycotting this year. Not really -- but I needed to use the money I would've spent on Comic-Con for my film. I might still show up for one day, though. I'll keep an eye out for you!

Puppet Eyes: Cotton or Styrofoam Balls ?

I think the next puppet I make will be made entirely out of concrete. At least it will be durable.

Puppet Eyes: Cotton or Styrofoam Balls ?

The best things I've found for eyes are ping pong balls (cut in half for Kermit-like eyes), plastic Christmas Tree Ornaments (you can find these clear year-round at Michael's), and plastic spoons (with the handles cut off to make Ernie-like eyes). Early on, I used white felt, plastic bowls...

    How does Cookie Monster work?

I think I read somewhere that it was a garden glove attached to deflated basketball. Am I remembering that right? Here's what i envision the glove looking like...

How do you attach 'Elmo style' eyes?

I would epoxy the two eyes together, then paint them white. Then, I'd put a screw up through the inside of the fur into each eye to secure them. Just the way I'd do it.

    ANY other antron sources?

One of the guys that worked on Crank Yankers told me that you can usually get 1 puppet out of a yard and a half. Why not buy two bolts and sell off the second one piecemeal? I'll buy 15 yards of it.
