    Zoot Talking Timeline

Recently I've been thinking about when Zoot has talked and when he's talked less. 1975: He doesn't talk at all in his first appearance (though I can't remember if he sings back-up vocals with Floyd and Janice), though in Sex and Violence all of his scenes involve him playing the saxaphone...

Did Wontkins have legs or arms?

Looking at the design of Wontkins, I must wonder, did he have arms or legs? He appears to be sitting on the wall alot, which would imply legs... But then there's no visable arms. Arms would make sense, yet I don't think he's ever held anything with them (and they don't move via rods).

Times a black background was used but not to hide performers

Usually, if a scene includes a plain black background, the main purpose for the black background is to hide performers dressed in black so that the characters can do something that would be hard to do without hiding the performers. But there have been times when a black background was used but...

St. Patrick's Day on Sesame Street

Enjoy this outline for a Sesame Street special. I thought this up today, which is the main reason it's written in outline form. Street Scene The camera pans through Sesame Street, from the laundromat to Oscar's trash can, as various characters are shown wearing green and decorating the...

    The hardest Muppets to draw

Who do you think are the hardest Muppets to draw? Now, I like to draw, but I'm not too good with proportions. I can usually get the basics of a character, but some are harder to draw than others. I feel it's hard to draw characters with beady eyes, or similar kinds of eyes (do Bean Bunny and...

When characters are shown with legs...

I've been wondering, whenever a full-body shot of a Muppet is shown, do they usually build a version of the chracter with a whole body (legs, waiste, etc.), or do they just put legs onto the puppet (maybe by pinning or velcrowing the legs).

Playhouse Videos with different theme music

As far as I know, most of the Playhouse Video compilations included an instrumental version of the opening theme at the beginning, and the season five version of the closing theme at the end. But I know that some of the videos had different-sounding theme music. I saw he Kermit and Miss...

Facts that don't seem to add up

I thought I'd start a thread for "facts" about television shows and movies that are widely sourced, yet there seems to be something off about the facts, maybe some holes in the facts. Maybe the ones who provided the facts just made up or exaggerated parts of the facts to sound more interesting...

    The VHS Thread

I thought I'd start a thread about VHS tapes. It seems like early VHS releases were more collector-friendly. For example, it seems like until the early 1990s video releases of classic animated shorts had more of the best-known shorts, while afterwards they seemed to be aimed more at kids...

MT: Upstairs Downstairs vs. 39 Stairs

The Song of the Count vs. The Batty Bat

Two of The Count's signature songs are The Song of the Count and The Batty Bat. The Song of the Count came out in season four, the season The Count made his debut, and seems to be the song most associated with the character for many years. Then The Batty Bat came out in season 17 and seems to be...

    Murray's Song Requests

I haven't done a fan fic in awhile, so please enjoy this. It's my attempt at a Sesame Street "video" hosted by Murray Monster (aside from the fact that very few Sesame Street DVDs in the past years have had linking material, why hasn't Murray hosted any video releases?). Announcer: Ladies...

This Frog vs. My Pollywog Ways

I thought this might be a fun thread... Which late-1970s Kermit song do you like better, This Frog from 1977 or My Pollywog Ways from 1979? I feel both songs are a bit similar in some ways. They are both sung by Kermit and are both from the late-1970s, both seem like good songs to perform...
