As the game progresses Bond seizes his chance when Goldfinger puts the ball in the next to last hole. He is standing nearby the hole and says allow him to pass Goldfinger's ball to him. He conceals something inside his hand, dips it into and out of the hole, leaving Goldfinger's real ball in it...
