The "What was the point of that?" Thread

As for the Green Fairy reference, I think it was kind-of designed as a "shock moment" for people who know Moulin Rouge who might find it humourous/shocking for the Muppets to make Absenthe-themed-jokes, and/or to have Robin as this character from the movie! Here's one: The realistic-style dog...

Lady Gaga names pet dog Fozzi

Oooh, also another possibility, Ed! I didn't know there was such a band. I assumed due to the fluffy personality of the Dog, and Gaga's previous interactions with Muppetdom, that she might have been doing a reference. However, that's certainly a possibility. She does love band connections too...

The "What was the point of that?" Thread

Well, the book is Jim's favorite, so I guess at one stage it did make sense. I just don't understand why it was made with so much darkness. I really enjoy some of the emotional complexity of the relationships between characters though...like the moment that Gonzo helps Fozzie across the bridge...

Lady Gaga names pet dog Fozzi

Well, I guess I don't know. All the papers have it spelt "Fozzi" but maybe they've only heard her talk about it, and don't know the correct spelling. But its possible that she's tweeted it as Fozzi, I guess.

Lady Gaga names pet dog Fozzi

Hehe. I agree! I think he looks really cute! But, hmm, maybe I should check out this hard-rock band. Just for balance.

Lady Gaga names pet dog Fozzi

Interesting. *attempting to keep inner Art and Music of Lady Gaga megafan at bay* And by the opposite of her music, you mean...? But seriously, Gaga is into just about every genre of music, every avenue of art, every form of expression, and any and all clothing (if styled properly). She...

Lady Gaga names pet dog Fozzi

I guess the Muppets do continue to influence her life! He's so cute (and I usually hate dogs). It was only last week that she said that if she apologized for wearing fur, she'd also need to apolguise to Kermit for wearing him. :ouch:

    "Act Naturally"

As much as I looove the harmony between Floyd and Janice (AWWWWW!) I think that the Gonzo version has more emotion.

Crazy Muppet Treasure Island DVD Review

"Oh, **** Jim, you know I couldn't shoot you." But the UK version does have "How does she bloody do that?" redubbed to "Blooming!" (Thank goodness.)

Crazy Muppet Treasure Island DVD Review

To be fair, forget the fact that there are fuzzy Muppets on the case, why would someone expect to buy ANYTHING that says, "Treasure Island" on it and NOT have violence, swearing and someone dying in it. Is she not at ALL literalaturally educated? However, when I was a kid, my parents watched...

    Kid Doesn't Recognize Big Bird

That article is ridiculous (as is this comment, if I may say so.) What the articlle should say is, "I left my child's education and social programming up to modern television and probably her preschool and friends, rather than taking the time as a parent to show her quality dvds and to...

Frank Oz: "New Muppets Too Cute"

Often, if you watch the originals and The Muppet Show, and stuff like that, its obviously comedy (there's plenty of humour and puns and intentional humour and also loads of gags that only work with Puppets) BUT, the writing is clearly written as adults speaking to each other on an intellectual...
