    What's your claim to fame?

Not famous for anything really, although I do write for DVD review site DVD Bits (www.dvdbits.com) and have recently started writing as an Australian correspondent for JoBlo's Movie Emporium (www.joblo.com). That's it! Craig

Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

If they did remake the film, I don't think Gene Wilder would be up for any role as I've heard he's not all that well with Cancer. But I hope they don't touch it, as it's a favourite of mine and there is no way any performer could match what Wilder brought to the role. Craig

    Question for Australians

Yep. Agro is a total ripoff. Agro creator Jamie Dunn used this Fisher Price puppet and just altered a few things. But from what I've heard, it's definately the same one. Craig

    New movies coming out...

Hated Independance Day with a passion. I understand that it was intentionally cheesy, but when you make a corny film and then expect people to take it seriously in the final act - it doesn't work. Hated it almost as much as Armageddon - a film that pretty much did the same thing...

    New thread...the Switzerland of Muppetcentral.

Well I almost got heated in the war discussion a couple of times, and I apologise if I offended anybody at all. I even disagreed with Byron at one stage. Never thought I'd do that! No hard feelings I hope man. :o

    Interesting Gulf War News

    I don't know. If it's a toss-up between Colin Powell and Chris O'Donnell, I think I'd take Powell. :D

    Interesting Gulf War News

That whole article that Wolfy posted didn't mean jack to me, and I also found it kind of offensive. Basically it's saying don't listen to people who haven't gone to university, because people who have are smarter. And that's a crock. I'm not saying the American leaders aren't intelligent...

    Academy Awards

Yeah Hanks was there. I guess it was just a rumour about him not showing up. I was surprised that Catch Me If You Can didn't receive an adapted screenplay nomination. I thought it was a very clever and throughly enjoyable film. However, even though I'm a huge fan of Christopher Walken's...

    Academy Awards

Julianne Moore was wonderful in both films, and I was disappointed she didn't take home an award. I thought she (and Meryl Streep) were just as worthy as Kidman. I personally think Julianne Moore should have won back in 97 for her wonderful performance in Boogie Nights, but oh well. She's...

    Academy Awards

I enjoyed Road to Perdition also, and was somewhat surprised it didn't feature more at the Oscars. Perhaps the fact that it was released quite a while ago played a part. Hanks is an actor who didn't impress me much when he first started making dramas like Forrest Gump. I much preferred him...

    Academy Awards

I thought John Q was fairly weak. It had a top cast and its heart was in the right place, but it was awfully derivative and predictable. Definately no Dog Day Afternoon. Craig

    Academy Awards

I was disappointed that Denzel Washington won last year. He gave a solid performance in a solid film. It was nothing out of the ordinary. He's a great actor, who's given far better performances in superior films. Halle Berry thoroughly deserved her award, however. Monsters Ball was a...

    Academy Awards

Byron, This guy made a truly remarkable film about American society because he cares about it so much. It's a film that's opened a lot of people's eyes. His speech may have lacked tact, but he was up there stating what he thinks and if Michael Moore had it his way, you wouldn't have read...

    Academy Awards

Roman Polanski made a beautiful film in The Pianist and deserved the standing ovation. He's an exceptional filmmaker who's just made his best film in years. Whoever called him a pedophile was a bit harsh. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone what he did. But he did believe the girl was...

    War Coverage: Gratuitous or Necessary?

Personally I think Michael Moore should be the American president. The man is Batman. Only fat. Gotta love Bowling for Columbine. Craig

    War Coverage: Gratuitous or Necessary?

The coverage is totally gratutious. Each network is just trying to outdo each other for ratings. It's pretty sickening really. Although I have to credit one of our networks here, Network Ten. On the day the war broke out, the other major channels stayed with the war. After a while, Ten...

I find that comment pretty ridiculous and offensive to Japan. Bringing Pearl Harbour into this is lame. Craig

    Interesting Gulf War News

You have to remember Jamie that not all protests are like that though. Sounds like what's happening in your city is horrible, but we had major protests in all capital cities yesterday (and probably today) and they all went smoothly, with I think only one arrest. In fact, a rally in Melbourne...

    Interesting Gulf War News

Like I said earlier, I'm not sure about my feelings regarding the war. But a lot of what Sidcrowe said, I agree with. So I guess I oppose it more than I support it. Craig

    Interesting Gulf War News

It annoys me how a lot of Americans seem to believe this war is the U.S.A. vs Saddam. You seem to be forgetting about the other countries involved as your allies, notably my country Australia. Australia has always been behind the US when it has come to ridding Iraq of weapons of mass...
