I'm not going to be making a mold and casting it, or doing any flocking. I will be making it with 1/2 sheet foam and Antron fleece so it won't be legit, but I'm still hoping it will come out good.
I have started a Miss piggy too. My hope is that she will be done the the time the movie comes out. I have been waiting for some materials to come in the mail for a long time.

I just started a blog for build puppets. I'm still learning how to use it, and am already made some mistakes with it. hopefully I will figure out how to fix it. This is where I am going to start keeping track of my builds.

Thanks for that link. Its a little frustraiting at times when making a muppet replica. the characters are inconsistent in how they look. Look at Fozzie in the Muppet show season 1 and compare it to season 3 and 5. There are many differnt looks to Fozzie bear. It was tough finding the fabric i...
I would have to recommend that you do not use cardboard at all. When puppeteer your hand get sweaty, and when the cardboard get sweaty it just falls apart. I would recommend corrugated plastic (realtor sign board). Or some people use foamcore too.

Do you ring the water out then hang dry it, after it was boiled? or do you hang it dripping wet? I also heard something about having the rub the fur while it is wet for the texture.... is this necessary?

Awesome! Thanks. I'll try it. When you did it did u wash the fabric first then sew the puppet? Or did u sew all the fur then wash it, then finish the puppet?
The Borsa pattern comes with notes on boiling fur but the are not that helpful. They just say boil the fur. I understand that it can vary depending on to what type of fur you use. But are you suppose to just dip the fur in boiling water. Does it take an hour or ten minutes? Are you suppose to...
He did not take very long at all. He is pretty basic when you look at the pattern. The thing that took the longest was the nose and eyes because i sculpted them out of clay, then made a mold then cast it in flex-it foam. But eben that did not take too long either.
