Everything increased, which means it's spring break for more people than I thought initially. Still, it's concerning that Peabody actually had a higher increase than Muppets. And it's absolutely embarrassing that it's going to take til the six day mark to hit 20 million.
Disney of course is...
It's outstanding that people can write off MCC and MTI, which were written by Jerry Juhl and just missing Jim and Richard. (although technically Frank didn't do any actual puppeteering in MTI)
I really dislike the "wrong sounding Muppets" Family Guy gag sometimes because it's just something to...
To be fair unfortunately fair, The Nut Job came out when there were practically zero family films on the market aside from Frozen. MMW is hot off the heels of three, and Rio 2 is coming very soon.
I know you guys don't want to be pessimists about it, but facts are facts: Muppets Most Wanted is...
Are you guys ready for another box office update?
What's that?
No?
Well sorry, here goes.

^Yesterday Muppets raked in 1.1 million dollars. Grand total now is 18 million dollars.
Considering that right now elementary schools across the country...
300 less theaters (which is due to Frozen's everlasting presence, btw) has really nothing to do with it. The movie was still presented in over 3100 theaters, so there's really no excuse for failure at least when it comes to counts.
Well the marketing has to spin it someway. Disney isn't...
The Sunday weekend estimate was 16.5. Today they released the actual numbers, which turned out to be .5 million higher.
It's still bad. Every box office report is announcing that "Muppets disappointed/missed"... it needs a miraculous turnaround at this point. Movies are so frontloaded nowadays...
Actuals are out... and it's actually good news: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/
MMW bumped up .5 mil to debut with a 17 million weekend.
Before you start celebrating, this is actually the first initial number before the estimates came in with 16.5, and back then it was still a...
I saw it again today, and I'll have to revise my score from 3/5 to 4/5. I still have some problems with the Dominic/Da Vinci Code stuff, and I was even more bummed in that payoff scene when one of the dudes goes, "It's the Muppets... this isn't going to be easy." (just weirdly mean-spirited) The...
I don't think anyone is trying to rain on people's parades, I'm just taking an objective view at this situation. The facts are pretty bold: MMW disappointed at the box office this weekend. It's about a hair above being immediately written off as a total flop for Disney right now, and if the legs...
Good point, and I pray that Disney doesn't act like jerks and instead keeps the advertising flowing at least the rest of the week.
I may see this over the week again, maybe even today. Anything to help the cause.
Official estimates are in... not good: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/
Muppets went down even more to 16.5 million. Tomorrow the actuals come out, hopefully it'll rise, but in this case it seems more likely it'll drop even further.
For comparison, Peabody made about 11.7 mil on...

Muppets Most Wanted will wind up with $17 million this weekend. For the record, this is $3 million less than analysts were saying at the start of number estimates yesterday...
Yeah it's probably going to make less than 50 mil here in the states.
I pray it does awesome foreign business. but I'm kind of unsure on how Disney would react to that one. A third movie would be possible, for sure, in that case, but not definite.
