Help Save British Fraggle Rock Episodes

The recent recovery was the first major find for over 20 years, and nobody thought it would ever happen. There probably are more Doctor Who episodes out there, but - up until now - it was generally thought that we might find an odd episode in a private collection but nothing more than that...

They definitely have at least some of the UK-shot postcards, as they turned up on one of the US DVD boxsets. A clip from a lighthouse scene also featured. When the first UK DVDs came out only 12 episodes were included. We were told that these were the only one which could be found; the...

News! Off-air recordings of three more episodes have been located: Wembley and the Gorgs, The Lost Treasure of the Fraggles and Let the Water Run. I've updated my page with screenshots. Sadly the first of these is in very poor condition, but the other two are good.

No reason why it shouldn't be - Henson seem to have been generally very diligent about retaining the master-tapes. FR:UK seems to be the exception, possibly because it was an overseas co-production.

I should stress that the majority of known recordings are on VHS, mainly recorded off-air at the time of the original broadcasts, and are not all of good quality. They're all watchable, but in many cases that's about all you can say for them. None of them are even close to being suitable for a...

Yes, all voices for the characters which appeared in the UK scenes (apart, presumably, from Sprocket!) were dubbed by the US performers.

Here we go, folks - from The Honk of Honks, the moment when Gobo and BJ meet: 'BJ' stands for 'Birtwhistle Junior'. He's the son of the owner of the lighthouse, Mr Birtwhistle, with whom the Captain had a number of run-ins. BJ took over from PK at the start of Series Four, PK's departure...

Video: "The Muppet Movie - The (Nearly) 35th Anniversary Edition" coming to Blu-Ray in 2013

I don't know. The only German home-video release I've seen is the early-90s Buena Vista tape, which was the same as the US releases.

Video: "The Muppet Movie - The (Nearly) 35th Anniversary Edition" coming to Blu-Ray in 2013

No, the UK scene is complete. Unfortunately the print used for the early home video releases was badly damaged - from memory, there were a couple of dozen physical breaks in the film, resulting in the loss of several minutes of material. The scene you describe should include those lines of...

Oh, that forum, yes. The information you found there is outdated, I'm afraid. Re 'Catchphrase': what that statement means is that whilst IFE own the tapes, they either do not own, or are not the sole owner of, the broadcast rights to those programmes, so they cannot make them available to a...

So far as we know, the ex-TVS tapes either remained in Maidstone or were sent to Leeds for storage. From there they appear to have been transferred to Disney in 2011, although I don't know whether they are physically still in the UK or were sent to the US. It is possible that all 96 episodes...
