Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I love Muppets Tonight! It's certainly not quite the same as The Muppet Show or even The Jim Henson Hour, but it was still good Muppety fun. And I liked the new characters introduced- just wish the classic ones hadn't been so pushed to the side. But they still showed up in there some. It's a fun...
I remember My Pet Monster- the doll for boys is how it was advertised in the 1980s. The movie is pretty hilarious/intriguing at the same time.
I remember the cartoon too- The Complete Series is now available on DVD!:)
Does anyone recall an episode of Sesame Street from the mid-to-late '80s with everyone finding items being misplaced or gone missing? I particularly recall Telly in the opening scene of this one losing his orange. Thanks.
Okay, she is on the "Characters" page- but I'd like it if she was there on the main site with all the others too. Why is that Mokey seems to be the one that's left off from these group shots?
Awesome! I love Kermit the Frog! And I love his songs. There's definitely a number of great ones you could include both from The Muppet Show and Sesame Street and a lot of the others shows and movies and specials he's been in.
I like the list so far. I might could do Youtube links later, but...
I'm really glad this thread is under the Puppetry forum and didn't get misplaced. Because otherwise the thread title looked really weird,okay?....lol:rolleyes::crazy::batty:
This is more on the lines of "Who Should've Been a Guest Star on The Muppet Show", but what about Ray Stevens?
Certainly he could've fit well with The Muppets. He seems to have a similar offbeat style of humor that would mesh well with Jim Henson's and the Muppets'.
Songs like "The Streak"...
Just the other day I picked up "Mystery of Smugglers' Cove" (#64 in The Hardy Boys Mystery Stories- Minstrel's Digest printing)
and "Alfred Hitchcock's Solve Them Yourself Mysteries"- I'm a big fan of mysteries and The Hardy Boys books in general as well as The Three Investigators.:)
I'm with ya there, man.
And though I'm not familiar with Rick Astley's other songs, I will say that I do enjoy "Never Gonna Give You Up"- it's a great '80s song! (And I love a lot of '80s music in general.)
Though I still think the Rickroll fad is pretty stupid, but it's not a big deal either...
Yeah for Darkwing Duck! Another Disney classic! I loved the cartoon as a kid and I really loved playing the NES video game! I haven't kept up with all the recent Boom! comics, but it is nice to see this character being reintroduced now.
I've got a few episodes on VHS that I like to pull out...
Just wanted to post to say that I LOVE DuckTales and Uncle Scrooge McDuck and that whole part of the Disney universe in general. DuckTales is such a great cartoon series and Nintendo Entertainment System video game as well. (There's actually 2 of them- both are fun.)
It's been fun seeing...
I don't know how well "The Black Cauldron" lives up to the Lloyd Alexander book- but I enjoy the Disney movie in any case. I think it's an underrated classic.
And DuckTales is awesome! I'm a fan of Carl Barks' Uncle Scrooge stories and I love the DuckTales cartoon too. Classic adventure. I just...
In looking around online for the "Out to Lunch" special, I did run across this article about it from Elliott Gould's website.

To answer the question of the thread, yes- prayer works.
I say this as a Christian who has seen God move and change things. However, prayer is not like rubbing on Aladdin's lamp and asking the Genie to do our every bidding and we shouldn't treat it as such. God is not obligated to do anything...
I definitely agree with Weird Al Yankovic and They Might Be Giants. I could also see Bowling for Soup and The B-52s would be cool too.
I would also suggest Flight of the Conchords and Rhett & Link- I think both of these duos would be hilarious with The Muppets. I'd also love to see Relient...
Sounds way cool! Hope the "C is for Cookie Monster" release has a good mix of some newer stuff as well as the classic stuff (particularly sketches and songs that have yet to be released.) How about including "Got to be Blue" on there?:insatiable:
Wow- an A-Team episode? Awesome!
(I wonder if Sesame Street did a takeoff on the classic '80s show back in 1983 when it first aired? lol)
I'll have to look at the press kit when I can. Sesame Street Season 41 sounds great so far!:wisdom:
Hmm- Alibris has generally been pretty good when I've used it in the past. But it's been a good while since I've ordered from there. I will say Abebooks is pretty reliable- I've ordered a good bit from there and can't recall any bad experiences. They have a really good selection from all their...
