Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I have a nice collection so far, around forty figures..which I think is pretty good, considering that I only started collecting last April! I have a large shelf which I place them on most of the time, but I decided to assemble them all for a large group shot...
I have high hopes but personally I wouldn't expect it at all. They are too obsessed with their disgusting list of six-eight shows. Anyway this is SO exciting! WOOHOO!
Glorious! Though not exactly true to form, these are good enough, and I can't wait to add them to my little Disney parade! I just hope they have Gonzo, Pepe, Rizzo, etc. in future lines as Bean was a bit of a strange choice.
Completely agreed, I thought that he sounded a lot more like the Scooter and Janice that I had come to recognize in the later stuff like A Muppet Family Christmas and such. Such accuracy in the voice, though!
ONE HUNDREDTH POST!
I dislike the Fozzie design. Something about him seems ever-so-slightly off other than the coloring...maybe googly-eyes?
But it's a very enjoyable comic! Maybe even funnier than TMS! And I noticed Pepe in the audience of the second issue...with green hair!
Another great one from Beaker! Can't wait to see the next one! But as other people have said, I hope the next one is from someone other than Beaker, Animal, Chef, or Gonzo.
I want:
Sal Minella
New Piggy
New Statler and Waldorf (two-pack?)
Theater playset
Robin the Frog non-scout
Bobo
Thog (this probably won't happen, but we can dream?)
New Gonzo and Sam the Eagle based on recent puppet rebuilds
Veterinarian's Hospital playset/figures
Big Mean Carl
New naked Rowlf...
This question has probably been asked before, but does anyone know why most of the main Muppet performers were not credited at all during the end credits? Steve Whitmire, Dave Goelz, and Eric Jacobson in particular.
Yep, I was guessing that, we don't see much Johnny and Sal anymore because of Brian's unavailability (?) and obviously judging by how low Miss Piggy's voice sounded Frank was performing her/dubbing her...(looks on Muppet Wiki)...they were filmed in the late 90s, maybe for the Odyssey channel.
I know exactly what you're talking about, and it's only on the first season, when I got the DVD I noticed that. In the third season when the ending gets changed the "transparency" effect disappears as the lighting is changed.
