Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
In character terms i'd agree because its actually anything that has been inspired by the old stuff (VMX, DXD, Weezer, Muppet Show Live) that has actually had more critical success than the new "trying to be cool" stuff. I also think new viewers prefer Muppets in a group but they're not featured...
What i mean by it is that the same old lines were being used over and over when asked about their relationship. While Jim and Frank carried it off very well there's only so many times you can be asked about Kermit and Piggys relationship in an interview and come out with a different answer...
It might be your age, a lot of us around 30'ish somethings are just old enough to remember TMS first time around and all the characters have changed slightly since then i have to admit. A lot of the younger guys here only came to the Muppets around the time of MTI so the more modern characters...
I would have said yes but looking at Empires background and business model i think they aren't in the same league and the whole point to them is that they make indie films for small budgets (usually 5-10m) and making them financially attractive for investors by filming in countries with tax...
I get the reason why they announced this prior to getting Henson or Disney involved, or perhaps they announced it after trying and failing to get involvment to see what turns up, or perhaps they didn't bother as they know it won't work - but i really don't see Disney getting involved with an...
A lot of the time things just get announced very early into the devlopment process, much like the Henson biographical film. The Muppet websites just pass on whatever news or press releases there are but so many things have been rumoured and announced and never been made. It's quite common with...

Well said Frogboy, totally agreed. Dave and Gonzo are my absolute favourites.
I am loving the elevator clips, and love that Gonzo outfit. I think these will go to show Diz that these guys are ready for their own show.
I used to watch it as a kid. I've not remembered it as well as others but will try to catch a few eps on the net and if i still like it, get the DVD. Thanks for telling us, i'd never have known.
I'm mixed on the idea of a movie. If it's the Smurfs we all know and love then of course...
Yeah the letters thing is my only criticism, i can see the reason for it, but still, blindboxed, people might need to buy 26 (or more) just to spell their name. If they were just in window boxes i could see the casual browsers doing the letter thing but not blindboxed. I still would have said...
It would have been co-announced with the Henson Legacy, no doubt about that. Look at how involved they are with anything Jim related.
When i'm saying that i think some people have got the wrong idea, it has to be said quite a few people have voted and posted in this thread talking about how...
