As far as I can see from the schedule, the only mention of Marvel at the whole thing was in Bob Iger's opening remarks yesterday.
OT: By the way, they showed the first 30 minutes of "Princess and the Frog" yesterday also. It's really, really good! I can't wait to see the rest of it.
:p
Hi Prawny,
I'm actually not there for the whole thing, but I do have tickets for Sunday. I'm trying to find out what the Muppets presentation is going to be to see if it's worth going back for and they're being very tight-lipped about it. All I've been able to find out so far is that...
Just got home from D23. First of all, the new Kermit is way bigger than MR's Kermit. MR Kermit is like the kid brother. No wonder the clothes didn't fit right at Comic-Con. And by the way, Kermit is standing all on his own.
Now for the pictures:
Reporter Kermit 1
Reporter Kermit 2...
I agree they should be marketed in the Disney Stores and Parks. That's an enormously huge number of people that would see them. I would almost think they'd sell out in practically no time if they were there, no matter what the price.
:p
That's true, but I believe that was because of marketing... or lack thereof. The year the Fozzie prototype was at Comic-Con, which was maybe 2 years after Kermit came out, I took a friend of mine by the booth and he was blown away. He bought Kermit immediately. But had I not physically taken...
I also just wanted to make it clear that what I posted above about the price is 100% speculation on my part. eFX has not announced ANY prices yet, nor do I have any other information than what we all have read here.
I based my guess on a number of factors, including what other full-sized...
Here's what I realized, looking at pictures of the real Gonzo: he has very long arms and no shoulders. So anything you buy in a store is going to look a little strange on him. Everything would have to be tailored to fit him properly.
:p
I think there are a couple factors at work here. First, the 15" I quoted isn't exact. It's close, but not exact. He could be 16 or 17". It's hard to measure. Second, you can't see this, but it looks to me like Kermit's legs in that picture are still bent so that he can stand. That, plus...
What makes you say he's too big? He's exactly the same size as the puppet Rizzo. They got to compare Proto #1 (not the one in the pictures as Bryan mentioned) to the real puppet, then went back and built Proto #2, the one displayed. He is the correct size.
:p
They're on the current Rizzo puppet that's been in use for awhile. I couldn't tell you when they were added, though. By the way, the "eyelashes" are an ostrich feather the same color as the ones on his head.
:p
Kermit Reposed
Kermit was reposed again today and he was actually standing... meaning I was wrong about there being enough room in the display case. I took pictures, but won't have time to post them until I get home.
I thought the clothes looked even better with him standing, but you guys...
That's a good picture. This is what I was talking about. I think the clothes on Kermit look better here. That's the way a trenchcoat is supposed to fit, even on a human.
I don't know what the Piggy head is made out of, but whoever said regular people wouldn't get it was right. I took a...
Sorry to disagree, but Kermit's coat was made from the real patterns. They even matched the buttons. eFX is going for real, authentic replicas. By the way, they adjusted his clothes a bit today and they looked better, plus they put Rizzo in the display case. I took some new pictures, but I'm...
I think the clothes fit better than they look. You can tell by the sleeves. The coat is bunched up funny because he's sitting.
As for the style, I have a feeling that's Disney's call. Anyway, the patterns that exist are the current ones. To make something from Great Muppet Caper era...
