Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Whenever I watched The Muppet Show, I always felt sorry for Fozzie Bear. It seems he always tried to get the audience on his side, but the jokes just didn't cut it. He did have more luck during the first season, the audience always laughed at the one he told during the opening titles...
Ah yes, I saw that. Australia got it too.
With all due respect to any Jason Donovan fans reading this, I always liked Kermit better, so that duet was a highlight of that special.
It's a funny thing Superfan. I had been thinking of starting a Favorite Cookie Monster sketch thread myself and I came here to find you've beaten me to it!!!
But anyway, my favorite is the one where Cookie Monster was in the library and kept asking the librarian for a box of cookies. You...
Sorry it's taken this long to write but I didn't actually got to the taping of Where Are They Now? No, what I meant was I saw it on TV and the one I saw had the Young Talent Team.
That's right. In fact, one example is The Sesame Street ABC Storybook where only one story, The Fable Of Fat Fireman Foster, has any humans. They being the narrator and the audience.
As far as I know, there were 4 sketches that had Bert and Ernie at the movies:
Ernie was making too much noise eating his food and Bert lost his temper with him. Finally an usher came and dragged Bert out.
The movie was having an advise effect on Ernie's emotions and the other people in the...
I remember that book. It was a great read but I remember the pictures did contradict with the show. For instnace, instead of Big Bird's nest around the corner of 123, it had (if I remember) some sort of shop. I forget right now, it's a while since I read it last.
I have been to two tapings. The first was Young Talent Time when I was 9. Only last night I saw Where Are They Now? on which Johnny Young and some of the team members appeared.
The other was Press Your Luck, which I attended a taping of with my school when I was 16.
I agree with MuppetMonster. We had Ernie and Bert on the Connie Stevens episodes of The Muppet Show and Big Bird was on another Muppet Show (I can't remember who the guest star was) and the whole lot of them were on the Marty Feldman episode but as far as I know, the only time anyone from The...
I have been reading Philip Chapman's review of Songs From The Street and it seems I was right about C Is For Cookie, at least. According to the review, the song was not heard on the TV programme until 1972 - one year after the album's release.
Well, actually, they have put out a few on CD. Some of them were retitled, mind you. I speak of The Muppet Alphabet Album, The Sesame Street Monsters and Happy Birthday from Sesame Street.
I seem to remember reading elsewhere at Muppet Central that Travelling Matt Fraggle makes an apperance in MTM. Well, I have this film on DVD and was viewing it last night, but I could not see him. There were The Muppet Babies in a daydream sequence of the adult Miss Piggy, and there was some of...
