    Hallelujah, Shrek Song

That's it exactly! Cohen puts it in a very, um, literate context and laces it with total sarcasm, doesn't he? It comes out great. You know, he (Cohen) recently (I mean in the last 10 years) dropped out of the music business, and went up a mountain to live with monks! Then, in the last couple...

    The Storyteller

I like THE SOLDIER AND DEATH and also I think my favourite is FEARNOT. You gotta love how NOTHING scares him! "You know what this is at your throat?" "I don't know, sir. A knife?" I love it! eric

Best of Cookie Monster on DVD!!! + Big Bird in China & Japan Specials

Don't get too excited. This "Best Bites" compilation is rather disappointing. I've had it for a couple of years (on VCD from an old VHS) and, no, there are no Monsterpiece Theatre bits, there are no Beat The Time bits. There is hardly a recognizable sketch on it besides "C is for Cookie"...

    Hallelujah, Shrek Song

I believe that the song "Hallelujah" was written by Canadian singer/poet Leonard Cohen. A BRILLIANT man that writes some of the most picturesque lyrics of our time. If you want to hear a very emotional version of the song, find Jeff Buckley's recording of it. Come to think of it, I suggest...

Does anyone remember a Fraggle songs video?

My VCD copy is definitely not lopsided, but I think I know why (sounds like I keep changing my story, but I'm not!) When I first started converting my VHS to disc, I had the audio from the VCR running to 2 separate channels on my mixer, so I could balance the left and right before it entered...

Does anyone remember a Fraggle songs video?

I think I know what happened. The VHS was not in Hi-Fi Stereo. This was not a popular option in 1983. It was in Linear Stereo. My more modern VCR (that I had when I transferred the tape) had only the options of Hi-Fi, or mono audio. I have a much better VCR now from the late 80's that...

    Editorial about TMS on CTS

You know what I mean! If Christians have a problem with the "mating" rituals of an imaginary species, then FINE. Otherwise, you know what I mean. That's kind of funny, though! eric

You will not look very nice with a plus size lip....

The funny part of that scene is when they zoom in on Kermit, his voice says "Oh, my goodness!" but his mouth obviously says something with only one syllable. Oh, my goodness, indeed. A little something for the adults watching. eric

    Editorial about TMS on CTS

There is also no evidence of any muppets actually "mating" on TMS. I may have missed something, but I don't seem to remember that. You're right. That part of the editorial takes it a little far. eric

Does anyone remember a Fraggle songs video?

I have the video converted to VCD (Video-CD...should play on most recent DVD players) and the quality is an easy 8 out of 10. Sound is mono, as I believe the original was, but sound quality is 9 out of 10. I don't have the original anymore, but I can copy the disc. eric

    Oscar saved my life

If A N Y O N E on this board ever feels that bad, pick a thread, go randomly to a response, and hit "email this person". Anyone here will be glad to listen, I'm sure. That's why we're all here! eric

What Muppet voices can you do?

I can't believe how many of you can do Frank's characters! I like to think I do an OK Janice singing "With a Little Help From my Friends" but I've never recorded it. I just like to sing along with her when the song comes on. eric

Did you notice an Elmo's World change?

Didn't they also take out all occurances of the phrase "You've got mail"? Even though AOL sponsors SS? eric

    I hate my VCR

Good call, JediX. That little extra effort keeps you on your toes. Nothing wrong with having to stimulate the brain once in a while. eric

    I hate my VCR

That would be the nice thing about a DVD recorder. Even if it starts up accidentally, it only starts recording at the end of the last program automatically. Neat! eric

    Sesame Street Bloopers/Technical Difficulties

There's a hilarious one from the first couple of seasons where Susan, Bob, and Grover are playing "One of These Things." The "things" are four circles, with one of them being smaller. (tough one) Grover can't solve the problem, since he says that the solution is that one of them is a circle...

    Question About Copying Tapes

Of course, that's correct, but my point is that we wouldn't be downloading the GOOD song if the REST of the songs on the album were worth buying, right? OR...if singles were still available for sale on a CD or from artists websites more readily. Some artists are realising this is a viable...

    Question About Copying Tapes

Being as pirate videos are basically meant to save money, I hardly think that is the way! An HD Plasma monitor starts around $9000 (Canadian...a little lower in the states...don't be fooled by "SDTV or EDTV"...they're not the same) and an HD camera is a pretty penny as well. Ah, well...I...

    What is inside Oscar's trashcan?

On a very early episode (1969) where he bakes a birthday cake for his grouch friend Herbie, (I think), he goes down into the can to get it so he can show Susan, and says "It's down here on the piano." eric

Eren Ozker spotted in Kaye Ballard episode!

I have the episode on VCD so the pause is perfectly clear. We watched it yesterday but I didn't stop it to check it out yet. I'm sure I could get a good pic if the quality is decent. eric
