Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Spoilers: Don't read until you see the trailer.
I laughed out loud at this. I love how it started like a trailer for a love film devoid of Muppets and, after mentioning Jason and Amy, they out of the blue say Kermit and Miss Piggy. I love how the narrator and Jason are surprised about the...
True. You don't even need a life cast for a liquid latex puppet. Just make a hole you can fit your hand through and make the head bigger than that (thank you to Norren Young).
I was excited because there isn't that much about latex puppet making and I thought it was cool Monster Makers thought...
I asked Monster Makers (www.monstermakers.com) if the instructions in their latex mask making book can be applied to making latex puppets. They said yes, but that wasn't the only reason I wanted to post this:
I already figured the book could be used for puppets, but the news about the hand...
You make that sound wrong. Both are some of Henson's great work. Only difference is that Labyrinth looks better in HD and Fraggle Rock looks more colorful.
The only edit I noted was the theme song, only because they had Fraggle Rock video commercials on my Dinosaur VHSs. Even that, they did it...
My mom's friend was here yesterday, scrapbooking, while I watched the last three episodes (gotta love Netflix :excited:). She told how she used to watch the show with her son and sang along with the theme song. She recognized all the characters, and made special mention of Junior and Doc. Good...
At 1:30 pm, they show the normal episode from 8:30 am. Then, Tuesdays - Thursdays they show an episode from later in the series. Weird, but a good way to show the especially good episodes from from both halves of the series. I'm enjoying it. :coy:
Hello. I like learning about building latex hand puppets, but when I look for links about them, I either finds stores or stuff about stop motion puppets. Would anyone know some good links. Thank you very much.
I just watched my first episode of Fraggle Rock today, thanks to the Hub (Let the Water Run) and it was awesome. I knew I would like the Hub when I saw Red and the show was pretty cool (just saw one where Boober has to save some Dooziers from "The Glob";)). It wasn't childish like some other...
There's a difference though: Wizard of Oz was shot on film, the Muppet Show was shot on video. Oz worked because film has the picture information to make a Blu-Ray possible. I think the DVDs have the best picture quality that the show will ever have. Again, the movies are our best bets.
Not VHS per se, but it was some sort of standard def videotape. If they did release a Blu-Ray, it would just be upconverted, something that can easily be done by putting a DVD in a Blu-Ray player. As I said before, your best bet for a (good quality) Blu-Ray of the Muppets is Blur releases of the...
I only discovered this site a few years ago and loved it from the start. Happy 12th.
I think the Muppets can only go up. I'm sure the movie will be big and, hopefully, we hear more about a new series.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Muppet Show may not make it to Blu-Ray. It was video-taped and it the late 70's-early 80's, that meant standard definition forever.
However, the movies should be put on Blu-Ray right away. :)
I'm sure it's not the end either. I'm just saying I remember reading that. I still enjoyed how Buddy made it his mission to make the biggest cookie for Cookie. Like I said in the previous post, Buddy saying "He is" to the guy who said Cookie isn't real was one of the most epic moments in that...
This episode was epic. It turned me into a fan of Cake Boss (I watched the next episode to make sure; I'm hooked). I was laughing almost the whole time. I love Buddy's enthusiasm. He may've yelled a lot, but I think he's just passionate. The cake was freakin art. Put the thing in the museum. I...
I'm glad they're releasing a widescreen FTB. While not perfect, it's still better that the full screen version. The cover is okay, but not as good as the poster art from the first one. I think it got changed so people don't think it's the same release. Anyway, I am definitely getting this DVD. I...
I hope that's the case. I really want to see more Muppet Show. Hopefully, one of the next sets will have of Muppets and Men. That was the best making of ever. No new thing can replace it. If Season 4 comes in May, I'll buy all four seasons.
The characters I would like to see on the next two...
