    Looking for selling advice

Well, the bunch of doubles covers both Muppet Show and Muppet Babies figures. However, before anyone gets excited I need to give the disclaimer that of the 50, only 8 are 'regular' versions of the figures. The others are variations of one kind or another. The variations essentially fall into...

    Looking for selling advice

Hi, all. I have about 50 doubles of figures in my Schleich collection. My hoarder self thinks that the box of doubles is "kinda cool" but my poor self thinks that clearing out the doubles on eBay is worth considering. My humble observations have always told me that auctions tend to have a...

    The great bootleg parade

Yeah, I have concluded that bootlegs fall into two categories: "So close but so far" and "So bad it's good"

Playskool's Sesame Street Line is available now

That 123 Sesame Street playset and figures have a lot of soul for 21st century Sesame items. I'm just not sure if there's a place for it in any collection that also features this. I must agree with Beaker about the Fisher Price Sesame Street rubbish of years past, but 1970s FP stuff is retro gold.

    The great bootleg parade

Operation Gather-Schleich continues with a vengeance. Now, any PVC collector will know that one of the downfalls of buying these items online is having to buy them in bulk lots which will be either blessed or plagued by items one had no intention of owning. With this in mind, for your viewing...

If "The Muppets" is a success: What's next?

I don't deny that there have been woeful Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons, especially in the era you mentioned. I also agree that Tiny Toons and Animaniacs were wonderfully Looney Tunes-ish. However, none of this changes the fact that I haven't found anything with the classic characters...

If "The Muppets" is a success: What's next?

To me, the death of Mel Blanc will always equal the death of Looney Tunes. I lost interest in anything new with those characters post-Blanc.

From someone who learned the hard way

If anyone is a fan of buying Muppet items in bulk from eBay sellers, please be advised that now is a very bad time to do a search on the words 'Muppet collection'. I just tried it... and about 80% of the results were those stupid new (ahem!) 'Muppet themed' nail polishes.

    Growing Hope Against Hunger

It's the same way that Barney allegedly encourages kids to use their imaginations, as long as their imagination lets them see the same overgrown prehistoric eunuch following the same bad choreography and droning the same platitudes as all the other kids 'imagine'. Now Elmo's noble cause is to...

    Growing Hope Against Hunger

There are a number of food vans and other such services here in Australia that become such a lifestyle choice for people. The Hare Krishnas serve their free food on a nightly basis in the 'arty' area of Sydney, but it is never stipulated that it's for poor people. When I was at university, I...

If you own a Schleich Fozzie PVC, please read and answer

I now have one of each as well, and can confirm that they both have Henson markings. Since starting this mission, I have been able to gain 64 unique Muppet Show figures and 35 Muppet Babies ones. New variations are still being discovered.

    Your Muppet mistakes

After skimming this thread, I must say that I was surprised not to see a single 'Fonzie Bear' or 'Ralph'. There was the day when my pre-school-aged self was being taken shopping for placemats. My older sister and the imposed-by-mother 'friends' all chose Smurf ones. I was already leaning a...

Am i the only one who is driven crazy when people say "Guest host" rather than "Guest Star"?

I'm assuming you're referring to people who say this in day-to-day discussions about the show, because Kermit always announced the celebrity guest as a 'guest star'. Yes, a guest host is someone who fills in for an absent host or is doing a stint of SNL hosting.

    I Want Answers...

It happens to me constantly, and, quite frankly, it ****** me off no end. Yes, I realise the word will get auto-censored, but it's the only word to explain my feelings towards it. The moderators must have some system of logic about clearly flagging what a post is about. However, so often people...

Schleich PVCs made by other companies

Yeah, my aforementioned Schleich-gathering mission has included getting a number of bootleg figurines. They truly are woeful, although standards vary. Some are well-painted in wrong colours, some are purely sloppy, and some Baby Kermits are surprisingly good. As hideous as they are, I've...
