Ideally, I like onion rings. The problem is the only major fast-food chain I know of that normally serves them is Burger King, and Burger King onion rings leave something to be desired.
I would expect that the actual skit seen on Sesame Street was different. I believe a lot of the sketches had dialog edited or changed to be appropriate for the subject of the book.

In the Book of People and Things:
*Ernie takes a bath in his bathtub Rosie. (I believe this segment was from the very first episode)
*Solomon Grundy washes part of his body every day of the week. (ditto)
*Kermit talks about the different ways people can feel, with happy and sad faced...
Here's a photo I scanned in from The Sesame Street Book of People and Things containing the original Gordon, a blue & red mailbox, and an orange Oscar!
With a little help from eBay, I was able to acquire this set of five Sesame Street books from 1970.
I had owned the Sesame Street Book of Shapes and the Sesame Street Book of People and Things when I was younger, although the books didn't appear to survive a household move four years ago...
One feature that distinguished the original Bert puppet (at least from the current) was a nose that drooped down when seen from the side.
Did Ernie's outfit change from the original orange-and-purple-striped sweater to the red-and-blue striped one he wears today at the same time he was rebuilt?
My favorite segment involving Grover is the one where he works a shift at O'Brien's Fast Food, and Fat Blue has to reach out and grab the food as it goes by...fast! Too funny.
Although I'm usually keen to pay close attention to things like these, the only long credits sequence I distinctly remember from watching Sesame Street in the late '80s and very early '90s was the "Barkley and kids in the park" sequence (which I loved) accompanied by the wailing harmonica...
My question is, if the Educational and Informational programming stipulation dates back to 1990, why did the (e|i) on-screen bug surface only a week and a half ago?
To be honest I wasn't a big fan of Ghostwriter when it was in production: I thought it was a notch or two down from the quality of Sesame Street or Square One TV, and only watched it sporadically. I've come to appreciate it a bit more over the years: It helped reinforce problem-solving...
In the meantime, we have a DVD set of The Electric Company to look forward to, coming early next year:
