Just one thing, though.
When will Sesame Workshop drop the press release outlining the educational focus for the season, plus new plotlines, celebrity guest stars for that season and so on and so forth?
Sincerely,
John "manoftheSTREET" Kilduff
"Hamlet"
"Lethal Weapon 3" (both of which featured Mel Gibson, the latter with Danny Glover)
Okay, maybe LW3 isn't a classic, but it was spoofed.
Sincerely,
John "manoftheSTREET" Kilduff
I want some info on the new season...
specifically, the celebrity appearances.
I know that Laura Bush, Sheryl Crow and Natalie Portman will be on the show this season...
Does anybody know who else will be making their way down the Street?
Sincerely,
John "manoftheSTREET" Kilduff
I'm trying to make a list of which actors did one-episode guest shots in the forms of "People In The Neighborhood".
Among those I can remember (from the mid-90s):
-Mike Myers played a messenger based on his "Wayne" character (As a matter of memory, I think the Street character's name was...
Who were some of the celebrities to appear on the "Street" in the 1989 season?
I didn't start to pay attention to celebrity cameos on the "Street" until 1992.
Sincerely,
John "manoftheSTREET" Kilduff
Hey, that'll do...
Feel free to move because of the following words...
In a thread I wrote a few months back, I said I wanted Sheryl Crow to appear on "Sesame Street", thinking she might be a good match with the show.
And whaddya know, while in New York, she tapes an appearance for the...
When will a press release be issued about the Street's new season?
With every one, they outline the educational focus for the year, preview episodes and list some of the celebrities who will be making appearances that season.
Anybody got any word on it?
Sincerely,
John...
In no particular order...
20 is from the sketch where Oscar The Grouch and actress Jodie Foster talked about "like". Great "Taxi Driver" reference in this sketch as well...
10 is (I think) the "Sesame Street News-Rapunzel" sketch.
Sincerely,
John "manofthestreet" Kilduff...
Watching the Street back in the late 80s, I remember seeing a segment with the 80s TV character Max Headroom on the show. I'm not quite sure what the segment was about...I'm not even sure if it was "Sesame Street".
Does anybody remember this segment?
Sincerely,
John "manoftheSTREET" Kilduff
Nevertheless, all roads lead back to the Street...
Useless Fact: Marlee Matlin appeared on the show in the late 80s, accompanying Billy Joel in sign language to perform "Just The Way You Are" for Oscar.
That is Marlee Matlin on "West Wing", right? I rarely watch the show.
Sincerely...

SPECIAL GUESTS: Penn & Teller
OPENING THEME
OPENING NUMBER: The Electric Mayhem performs The Velvet Underground's "White Light/White Heat"
Statler: You know, atomic bombs give off white heat...
In a preview for the upcoming Playstation 2 game "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" (a gritty action game set in the neon 80s), there's a profile of Ray Liotta, who does the voice of main character Tommy Vercetti. In the article, they list his 5 best performances. From 1 to 5:
1.) "Goodfellas"...
If he weren't named Tom, maybe he could be named Sven.
I don't know...I was just watching my DVD of "The Running Man" and there's a character in that movie with that name. It just sounds appropriately Swedish...but Tom will do in a pinch.
Sincerely,
John "manoftheSTREET" Kilduff
Positively brilliant!
I like how you used songs from "My Fair Lady" in the same episode as one of the best glam-rock songs of the 70s.
Keep up the good work on all fronts!
Sincerely,
John "manoftheSTREET" Kilduff
If anybody has the 1994 special "Stars And Street Forever" (Sesame Street's cameo-loaded 25th Anniversary special), I would gladly pay for a copy. I haven't seen this special in 8 years, and I would greatly enjoy seeing it again.
Also, I would like to see the PBS special "Sesame Street Jam"...
I post regularly to an 80s forum...
It's my favorite decade. I consider myself an 80s baby since I was born in 1982.
I've always enjoyed the music, movies and TV of the decade. Since my dad was alive in the 80s, I remember that positively as well.
I didn't like the 90s after 1993...
Bear in mind, Ozzy is only a rumor...
Anyways, he indirectly made an appearance on the "Street" once when CTW licensed the PSA "Yakety Yak-Take It Back" for air time on the show.
Sincerely,
John "manoftheSTREET" Kilduff
We already know that Laura Bush has taped an appearance, and rumors have been run that they're pursuing Ozzy Osborne for an appearance.
With that, I ask the question, "Which celebrities do you want to see on the Street this season"?
Here's my list:
-Jimmy Fallon and/or Tina Fey (They have...
Once, I would've agreed with Patty E., but now...
I side with my fellow Muppet fans on this matter.
While not a fan of Snoop myself, I think his appearance would've been jake by any means. Why?
For that, think of these names:
-Spike Lee (provocative filmmaker)
-James Gandolfini (star...
"You Spin Me Round" was Dead Or Alive, not Devo.
As for my choices:
-"Don't Shed A Tear" by Paul Carrack
-"You Belong To The City" by Glenn Frey
-"Modern Woman" by Billy Joel
-"Something Special" by Patti LaBelle (I'm thinking Janice for lead)
-"It's My Life" (either the Wendy O...
