Re: Letter Segments
Blue AM,
I haven't seen ANY of these since I was between 3 and 5 (I'm 15 now) so I'll try to do the best I can with answering these. Billy Idle has purple skin and a triangular pinkish nose (I can't remember much about his eyes.)
Nora Nicks has orange skin and red hair...
Fave letter segments
My favorite letter segments are...
- The letters "H","O", and "R" being lifted from the side of a building
- "Rebel L" by Billy Idle
- "The Letter 'N'" by Nick Normal and the Nickmatics (excellent intro)
- the old "Q" cartoon where the Q yells out...
Hey!
I can sympathize with Little Jerry, that skit scared the bej***s out of me. It almost sounded as though the guy who sang "40 Dots" had a nervous breakdown (or faked like he was) when he got to the 39th dot.

Somewhere in the late '80s or early '90s...
Somewhere in the late '80s or early '90s, they did a segment where the Count counted 54 lambs, so that doesn't seem very unusual.

Were there any "Sesame Street" segments you were freaked out by when you were little? Well, here are some the ones I were freaked out by:
- The '70s cartoon where they introduce the letter "G" for "gorilla", and the gorilla comes out and grabs some guy (eeeeehhhkk!!!)
- Any of the...
I like to rock out, man!
My fave bands are:
U2
the Beatles
the Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
Jimi Hendrix
Nirvana
Better than Ezra
Barenaked Ladies
And there's a billion other bands I like!!!

Do you remember how long the guy shouts "40"?
I'd be interested to know how long Jeff Moss (or whoever it was) shouted "40" for. I look forward to hearing your answers to this!

How come there's nothing for numbers 21 through 39?
So, I guess there was an episode(s) sponsored by this number. THEN FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD, WHY AIN'T THERE ANYTHING FOR NUMBERS 21 THROUGH 39?! (or is there?) I look forward to hearing your answers to this mind-boggling question of...
"40 Dots"
I thought that this segment was really freaky back when I saw it (I was about maybe 3 or 4 when I did). I don't think I could stand how long the guy said "40", which I think was about a minute long (yeeesh!) Plus, the background of it seemed a bit ominous to me at the time...
A long time ago, I remember seeing a segment on Sesame Street where they counted 40 dots (apparently it seems as though quite a few of you remember this), yet I don't remember any episode being "brought to you by" any number further than 20. However, I am aware that this isn't the only...
