Museum of the Moving Image in Queens if you get the chance to go to that neck of the woods. That place is awesome.
Pretty much all of the museums in NY are cool though.
The puppet looks fantastic! I always love your monsters, Jarrod.
BTW, I know you get this a lot, but specifically for this puppet, what did you use for the eyes? Soup spoons?
Muppet Captain is basically taking care of every puppet problem that might occur. It is an extremely important job, especially when filming stuff in the "real world".
So, Muppet Captains look over the script to see if there are any particularly difficult actions that the character is required...
Yeah, whenever the media reports on something that involves hand puppets of any kind, there will be at least one outlet that refers to them as Muppets.
1. Well, they could call the puppet character a Muppet and thus keep it a fully in-house production
2. Disney hasn't let the performers be seen AT ALL except for at the end of SNL and maybe a few other appearances, whereas the performers should have had SOME sort of feature on the DVD that is...
For a second, I was wondering why it wasn't a Muppet production, and then I realized that they explicitly mention the word "puppet", so under Disney's strict "they're not puppets" policy, it wouldn't be allowed. I know the Muppets have never addressed themselves as puppets, but Disney is way too...
Never be afraid to go off script, and never be afraid to address the fact that your character is a puppet. However, don't constantly mention that the character is a puppet because then it is distracting and since your show is educational, it might detract from the message.
Based on the pictures, I think you're being hard on yourself. It actually looks good. Plus, with a good performance, no one will notice the seams because they'll be focused on the puppet's movements.
But, if you want to improve your sewing, just make the stitches less wide and don't pull hard...
It was INCREDIBLE!!! I was giddy from start to finish. Words cannot describe how fantastic this show was. And, after the show, I met Bill Barretta, Jerry Nelson, and Paul Williams!
Incredible. Just incredible. I tip my hat to you, Bill Barretta, for your impeccable performance as Dr. Teeth. We knew Eric could do character voices perfectly, but now it is clear that Bill can do one mean Teeth. David was also great as Janice.
Yeah, Matt was a teeny bit off in this...
I can do an impression of every single Muppet.
But, I can do GOOD/DECENT impressions of Kermit, Waldorf, Animal, Beaker, Swedish Chef, Camilla (if that counts), Sweetums, Rowlf, Mahna Mahna, Bobo (who all have similar voices), and Lew Zealand.
