The Muppets Episode 9 - Going, Going, Gonzo

I hope the Muppet folk are sitting back with their feet up, a beverage of their choice in their hand, they made an excellent episode. The more you know of Kermit's and Gonzo's shared history the more enjoyment the episode presents. A few random thoughts. I would not be opposed to an entire...

    May You Always

I wondered about her inclusion as well. It does seem to be an odd choice. I don't have an answer for you, but here are some theories I thought of: It was season one and although Jim and the writers had a pretty good idea of who the "starring" Muppets would be I think there was still some...

    Rufus or Muppy?

I knew Muppy before Rufus, so that's where my allegiance is. Muppy's scruffy look made it easy to use a real dog for long shots. And yes he was a bit nippy at times, but he was downright sweet in scenes with Twiggy, Zero Mostel and Roy Clark.

The Muppets Episode 8 - Too Hot to Handler

Not quite sure how you came to the conclusion that Becky clearly was cheating. Ebay purchases are time stamped so if she ducked under the table at 8:15PM (let's just use as an example) then her item would have been purchased at 8:15PM. I don't think we needed to see them review her whole...

    The Muppets Episode 7 - Pig's in a Blackout

Snorkeling is one of the biggest attractions to do in Hawaii. I am guessing he was trying to think of something Hawaii themed to continue the conversation. His other options could have been volcano climbing (another real thing there) or a Luau. My guess is the writers picked the one had would...

The Muppets Episode 8 - Too Hot to Handler

I don't think Deadly was flying the 31 star flag, but that he is designing a line of US Flag inspired clothing. So he would know all the variations of the flag over time. I'm guessing items similar to the flag t shirts and shorts and such that people wear on July 4th. I would imagine Deadly's...

The Muppets Episode 8 - Too Hot to Handler

I liked the episode. Miss Piggy stepped back from the spotlight to let Kermit and Fozzie and Scooter enjoy some time in it. Scooter's physical gag with his hands was very funny and great puppetry. Also I have noticed in previous episodes and noticed twice in this episode the way that the...

    Most Effective Muppet Commercials (1970s-2006)

Getting even further off track your signature line from WKRP is, in my opinion, one of the funniest lines from one of the funniest episodes ever.

Video: Warburton's Muppet Show Commercial featuring the Muppets

This was really an unexpected treat. So many characters. So much mayhem. I have read that there are a lot of Manchester England references (where the factory is? I guess), but it shows that it is clever, well thought out and funny. There are three additional videos you can search for - all...

    The Muppets Episode 7 - Pig's in a Blackout

Don't lose respect for Bateman because he was a jerk to Kermit. It was all in the script. Plus Kermit getting kicked out of the spa is what propelled him to Rowlf's. So in a weird way Bateman did him a favor.

    The Muppets Episode 7 - Pig's in a Blackout

Deadly isn't a ghost. As someone said above getting killed by the critics means getting really bad reviews. Reviews that probably "killed" his career. Jerry Nelson said his two inspirations for Deadly were hammy Shakespearean actors and John Carradine. Carradine was a character actor in the...

    The Muppets Episode 7 - Pig's in a Blackout

Tonight I am responding to this episode without reading previous comments. So I apologize in advance if I steal your thunder or comments. This was an episode where its creators hit it correctly. I want to focus on the positive first: Kermit is stressed. He hasn't been himself. The breakup...

"The Muppets" show runner exits, series to be relaunched February 2 with episodes 11-16

I am cautiously optimistic with this report. I have enjoyed all the episodes, but I think there is still room for tweaking. I think they are close to capturing that "Muppety Feel". In fact in some plots and some characters (Deadly, Carl, Yolanda) they have it. So, I say let them tinker...

    The Muppets Episode 6 - The Ex-Factor

A strong episode. We get a more in depth portrait of Denise. A more balanced Piggy. An Electric Mayhem subplot. Dramatic Problem Reading. And a lot of rules for a no rules salad plate. I think over all it is one of the stronger episodes.

ABC's 'The Muppets' Scores Full-Season Pickup

That number could be considered a full season but with this show in particular it was an initial order. The producers and creatives were aiming to get additional episodes.
