    Muppet fabric and stencils

JoAnns often has cotton versions of the flannel SST prints. I've also found some at quilt shops from time to time. For Classic Muppets: you can keep an eye on eBay for sheets, but the prints tend to be quite large. You could scan in pictures and print them on premade fabric sheets...

    Where are you Frogboy?

As I understand it, Jamie is very busy with work these days. I haven't heard from him in a couple weeks either, but he has mentioned tons of work and little board time recently.

    Intriguing Photo Essay

This is way off the topic of Muppets but I found it interesting... I stumbled across this photo essay of a motorcycle trip through the Chernobyl area. It has a lot of information (like asphalt does not absorb radiation so the road is safe, stepping off the road is a different story) and some...

    Can somone explain Sesame Workshop?

Sesame Workshop is Children's Television Workshop (CTW). Some years back they changed their name. Sesame Workshop (formerly CTW) owns SST and always has. PBS airs SST. I believe Joan Ganz Cooney's (a driving force behind the creation of SST) exact words on the idea of Disney owning SST...

    New Quilt

Count-- Sure thing. The quilt is made with calico fabrics-- cotton prints-- and one light weight fleece (for the Count's skin). There are very few solid fabrics, most of the fabrics 'read as solid' which means they look like a solid from a distance but as you get closer you see they are...

    New Quilt

Wow-- I'm surprised this thread popped back up again after all this time. Thanks. I need to get some new pictures up. I'm working on something different.

    I definitely remember those blocks!

Harry Potter, no family in Goblet

Teaser trailer looks good. I'm wondering how much they're going to cut out of Order of the Phoenix. You can't very well lose the Dursleys in that one.

    The Passion of...Peter Rabbit?

That is just wrong. A friend of mine teaches Sunday School for preschoolers. One of the parents asked her what they tell the kids (2-4 year olds) about Easter. She said they tell them Easter means God loves them. They don't go on about the Easter Bunny but they don't give the kids...

Your Thoughts: The Street We Live On

They can't rerun old episodes of SST. Sesame Workshop signed a contract that puts old eps on Noggin (don't remember when that expires). Noggin scaled that back because kids weren't watching or responding to the old episodes. We may not like it, but the truth is, kids aren't engaged by the old...

Your Thoughts: The Street We Live On

I think the problem here is one of two completely different audiences. Remember, this wasn't strictly a 35th anniversary special made for prime time. This was also the first episode of the new season. Thus, it absolutely has to appeal to the 2, 3 and 4 year old who are the core SST audience...

JHC and HIT establish worldwide distribution and production venture

I'll be interested to see the new Frances show-- I loved those books when I was a kid. I think this is good. Disney wouldn't have made Fraggle a priority-- not with the entire Muppet catalog-- this could well mean Fraggle will be coming to DVD in the next few years....

    AP Sesame Article on CNN.com

CNN.com has an AP story on the 35th Anniversary up with a prominent link from their entertainment homepage. It's a decent article, though it has to reach back to last season's First Lady appearance to wrap the article: http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/TV/03/31/apontv.sesame.s.35.ap/index.html

There used to be a chain of Sesame Street stores. They went bankrupt in the early or mid-90s.

John Kennedy Puppet Building Special on HGTV

You didn't miss much. Carol Duvall does a craft show for HGTV/DIY. This was her annual special coverage of the hobby and craft industry trade show. There was a lot of coverage of scrapbooking and polymar (spelling?) clay. John was on near the end. I think his entire segment lasted less than...
