    RIP Norm MacDonald

I only know he did the news on SNL. To show you how long it’s been since I watched, it was Dennis Miller’s job last time I looked.

There is nothing wrong with dabbing off pizza grease. Most of it comes from the cheese. It’s not always just mozzarella. Sometimes they throw in Parmesan or pecorino. Other times sausage and pepperoni release oils when they’re baked. Some pizza places up here drizzle a few drops of olive oil on...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus News and Updates

I’ll agree this much. I’m all in favor of vaccines, always have been. But I’ve also been in favor of choice. If you choose not to get vaxxed, that choice is on you. If you choose not to get vaccinated, you bear the consequences. You can’t get any fairer than that. The one thing a vaccine...

That’s from the 80s. Young people today would look at that landline and go, “That’s a PHONE???!!!” Domino’s kinda lost my business. There is one not a mile from my house, and the last few times have been disappointing. To compensate, there are two mom-and-pop joints close by, one is Branda’s...

    Questions about anything

The Dr. for many clergy is if they have a PhD in Theology or Divinity. It’s not necessary to be a pastor. To run a church you also need considerable administrative skills, or hire a staff to do so. My aunt has a PhD in Theology, it helps her being a teacher, but not run a church.

    Commercial rant time...

I’m not totally disagreeing. Maybe because times have changed. My mom still tells me, growing up at the end of the Depression and through WWII,, sometimes food was scarce. You ate what was on your plate, you didn’t dare argue. I had to deal with that when I was little, sometimes eating stuff I...

That idea has been around long before Dexter. Some lesson on how to make them were shown on Sesame Street, Captain Kangaroo, this 70s PBS show called Vegetable Soup, just to name a few. Worked great with orange Tang.

We had those. They’ve been around forever. To me, they didn’t really taste like anything except colored water. But they were cheap. You could freeze them and they’d taste slightly better, but it’s still colored ice.

The new What Made You Smile Today thread

Snowthy, you’ll appreciate this. There’s a Walter Matthau film called “Plaza Suite”, 1971. No Jack Lemmon in this one, but like The Odd Couple, it was a Neil Simon Broadway play that Paramount made into a movie. Matthau plays three roles. In each act, he has a different a different leading lady...

Way back when, that stuff was called “Bug Juice”. But I lived on it. Basically orange corn syrup, but when you’re five, you don’t care.

Okay, this barely qualifies as food, but… energy drinks. The big guns today are Red Bull, Monster, and Rockstar. Back in the 80s in my college days, there was this concoction called Jolt. Loved is like Pepsi, but ten times the sugar and caffeine. Helped many students cramming for midterms and...

There is something you can only find in Philly and Trenton, called a tomato pie. Maybe a sprinkle of cheese, but basically it’s crust and sauce. Too much sauce, the pizza won’t bake well. It will ll either make the crust soggy or make a mess when you pull it out of the oven.

    What made you think today?

That’s something Mr. Rogers discussed soon after 9/11. While there was terror and fear going on around them, people were still brave enough to help others. Police, firemen, and EMTs rescuing people trapped even as the towers collapsed on them. The passengers on the plane that crashed in...

    What made you think today?

20 years ago today 9/11 happened. For each generation, an event happens that’s so life-changing, world-changing, it leaves a deep imprint on you. You remember where you were, what you were doing, what color the sky was, in pretty fine detail. Today is almost exactly the same. 70 degrees and not...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus News and Updates

Back in 2006, our then-governor Jon Corzine got plenty of heat. He had a a seat belt mandate. Then he got into an accident, and he wasn’t wearing his seat belt. This caused a big uproar in traffic courts. So many drivers who were fined for not wearing seatbelts, and our own governor wasn’t...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus News and Updates

Biden gave a presser urging the 80 million who are still unvaxxed to do so. And you better, because his patience is wearing thin. But during the election, both him and Kamala stated if the vaccine was rolled out while Trump was still in office, they would have nothing to do with it. That...
