How's the weather where you are?

Oooh the dreaded S word for you, superfan. Too early for that in Philly, thankfully. Today fianlly had a little sunshine and thus slightly warmer temperatures but still cool (59F,15C). But then yet more rain comes Monday and Tuesday. (Still, the R word is 1000 times better than the S word!)

    500! Yay!

Congratulations on the half way point milestone to seniorness. And the White Sox gave you a nice gift last night in anticipation!

How much variety amongst PBS stations?

One of my all time favorite movies, Alfred Hitchcock's "Dial M for Murder", is on tv right now. I'm not watching it because the World Series is on and also because I have the movie on both VHS and DVD. But what I was curious about is that it's on the Philadelphia PBS station. And the nearby New...

How's the weather where you are?

Yikes the dreaded s word! I just checked the newest forecast for here. The overnight temps will be going down to 46 tonight, 40 tomorrow night, 43 monday night, then 39 the next two nights. Still warm enough for any precipitation to be rain here. Whew!

    Burger King Or Mcdonalds Fries?

You got that right. BK's rings are tiny and kind of blaaa (like nearly all of their food imo). I was talking about the restaurants where you can either get the nice large length french fries or the big golden brown onion rings. So with you and D'Snowth's mother that is now 4-0 in favor of OR's...

    World Series 2005

Yeah that brings up an interesting thing. I've heard that it's common in Chicago for fans to like either the Cubs OR the White Sox but not be fans of BOTH. Like it's quite the rivalry. So recently I heard a Cubs fan say they will not be cheering for the Sox because, "you just can't cross over...

How's the weather where you are?

Well I see the hurricane declined to a cat. 3 earlier and now is a cat. 2 with 100 mph winds. Still strong but praise God it continues to decline and still might now reach Florida to late Sunday or Monday.

    Burger King Or Mcdonalds Fries?

Oh I think Hardee's has tasty fries. And their burgers are the best of all of them to me. Simply mmmm mmmm scrumptious! Just too bad there's none close to me. And a Big Mac or quarter pounder w/cheese definitely beats a Whopper! Okay folks, what about french fries in general vs. onion...

what classic number segments can you remember?

Ah yes I remember hearing that Brian appeared in the baker segments. Thanks for the tidbits, fuzzygobo, and also about Lisa being the girl in the first nine item. And you also provided the missing 7 item - nickels, and another five item - dimes. So now we have the complete seven song - How...

what classic number segments can you remember?

Ah I just recalled the last 9 item! A boy excitedly says, "Nine quarters!". Quite a contrast in enthusiasm to the little girl who said, "Nine noodles." So the 9 segment went (in this order): nine noodles, nine nails (man hammers them in), nine lice (actually, is it nine LIGHTS he said? Yeah...

    Burger King Or Mcdonalds Fries?

Yes Mickey D's fries for me over BK's. I like just about everything from MCD's better than BK. It's just tastier food. Wendy's is also good though, including their fries. And Wendy's fries are nice and thick. Yet, there's just something about the flavor of Mc Donalds french fries! Now, how...

what classic number segments can you remember?

In the falling baker segments, 5 also had five frogs and 7 had seven spooky spiders. So need one more for 7 and 9, and three more for 5.

    World Series 2005

There wasn't a Black Sox team. However, the Chicago White Sox team of 1919 was nicknamed the Black Sox because of the scandal where eight players on the team deliberately lost the World Series in exchange for money from betters who cashed in since the Sox were heavily favored. There was a movie...

what classic number segments can you remember?

Here's a thread about the falling down baker series. Most of the details of the number skits were listed by various members. But I didn't see any for 5,7, and 9 (other than Rowlf the dog being mentioned for one of the 9 items). From my memory: 5 had five "whatever they are" (five scary...

How's the weather where you are?

Well with more rain and drizzle it's actually not good baseball weather (then again, there are such a thing as domes!). Yes, as expected today is overcast with rain and drizzle. And another cool 54F, 12C day. At least it made it nice for sleeping in this morning (when it's bright and sunny...

    A couple more alphabet segments

Thanks GonzoLeaper. So looks like Woody Allen did a comedy from the Bogart line in Casablanca and then SS did a parody of the Allen movie or both. I've still never seen Casablanca.

    What's with all the leaving...................

Heya D'Snowth! Well, I missed Tuesday and Thursday this week but I think I posted quite a bit Wednesday. But overall I am on less these days because of having a second job for the moment. Not sure if you came across the threads where I posted about that (one was the "new movies" thread and I...

    Remember this commerical?

Anyone recall the following "Divorce Court" commercial from about 1986 or 1987? This is from my best memory. I liked this commercial. Wife: You're an insensitive, selfish man! Husband: Thank you! Coimng from you that's a compliment! Wife: What did I ever see in you? Husband: Try my bank...

    What's with all the leaving...................

Yeah we muppet fans are a sensitive bunch. But I agree: hang in there, don't leave, vent if necessary, talk to a monitor if necessary, and try to focus on all the numerous positives at this site and that for every unkind person or comment there are many more kind people and comments. :) BTW...
