    Something Interesting !

Well, I don't know if this is a real stretch but in the "J Friends" song, the muppets sing about a tall and slim "Jim", a friend named "Jane" and a friend name "Joan"--who's jawing on the phone. I always thought this might have been an inside reference to Jim and Jane Henson, and possibly Joan...

The most DATED thing on classic Sesame Street?

Fun is good. It's one of the things that makes life groovy. Three cheers for it. When I think of dated stuff, I don't know why, but the clip of the "Ace, the Lost Dog" comes to mind. I guess in this millenial day and age, if someone wanted to print out a basic sign like that, they probably...

    Bud Luckey in "Boundin"

Hey kids, If you get the chance to see the new Pixar film, "The Incredibles", during the previews, they show the full-length film "Boundin" done by none other than our wonderful "Toucan Two-step" guy, Bud Luckey. You'll be sent back to your childhood hearing his voice, as he narrates the...

    Ernie's ice-cream cone sketch

A hot summer pick-me-up in the sweltering 69 degree Emerald City?! :) He he. Anyhoo, I loved that clip. I always wondered what pistachio ice cream was like until one day, my mom got a package of pistachio pudding and that was enough to satisfy my curiosity. I love pistachios, but that's about...

    Beautiful Day Monster question

When I was a kid, I vaguely remember that at times right before Beautiful Day entered a room, there was a fast jingling noise---like a bell or something. No one I've spoken to remembers this, so I could be completely wrong. The sound might have been the result of all the blood draining from my...

Are they going to rerelease the E&B puppets?

One word for you: EBAY! :) I see 'em all the time there, in various conditions, of course.

    Black Ameoba looking things...

I actually got to see Mummenshanz last fall perform at the University of Washington. It was an awesome show with a definite early seventies Sesame spirit to it. ;) If anyone gets a chance to see them perform, please go. It definitely is a performance that is worth seeing.

Your Favorite Cartoons on Sesame Street

Here are a few that come to mind.... Yellow Yahoo -- Every time I see this clip, it tickles me inside like nothing else. I-C-I-C-L-E ---one letter I for you, and the other I for me! Nancy the Nannygoat (Since my first name is Nancy, you can imagine how many times I've been called that...

Sesame Street cards from American Greetings

Roosevelt Franklin Birthday Cards I was in my friendly neighborhood Target store and spotted out of the corner of my eye a bunch of "retro" cards with Sesame characters illustrated on the front. The reason why I say "retro" is that the cards featured older looking illustrations of Ernie, Bert...

    Favorite Animal Films

Yes, there is a marmoset clip. I was told by someone that this was one of the last things Joe Raposo did for Sesame Street. A few of my faves in the category are: "Flying" "Bald Eagle" "Gazelle" "Seahorse" "Starfish" Those songs are like, audio sedatives, man. ;)

    Favorite opposite skits

Singing cows are always good for a laugh. :) I vaguely remember a skit from the 80s that involved a guy muppet singing this song to a girl. It went something like---"I go up, you go down...I go left and right and you go round and round.....I go over and you go through.......Why is it that...

What Muppets scared you as a child?

Two muppets: The original Sammy the Snake---the green and purple striped one who sang about the letter S on Sesame Street. There was something so evil looking about him, with his tongue hanging out and those half-lidded eyes. It freaked me out watching him hiss and see a stream of "S's"...

A very short, but cute story

A fellow Muppet-loving pal of mine gave birth last January while "The Muppet Movie" played on her TV in the background. The nurses joked with her, saying that was the first Muppet assisted delivery they've ever experienced. :)

    Favorite number songs

Hey Xerus---that one IS my top fave, too. :) There's only a wee teeny little clip of that on one of the Fisher Price Movie Viewer reels titled 'Numbers". Yeah, I know it's a stretch, but get in touch with me at edehl1970@yahoo.com. I think I might be able to direct you in the right location. :)...

This thread was brought to you by the letter I!

I know this one has already been mentioned, but I had to share my story based on the boy with the dog with the letter I-shaped bone. My sister and I have always had an "inside" joke-type of tradition, that when anyone says, "Oh, I see....", we have to reply, "I-C-L-E! One letter I for you...

Favorite Song on "Count It Higher"

Oh, gosh........I used to have this tape a loooooong time ago. I might get a few of these clips mixed up with one of the other tapes, but from what I remember, it had Chrissy and the Alphabeat's "Count it Higher", the "Ten Commandments of Health", and I THINK it had "ZZ Blues" on it....and...
