Hey! I'm new to this thread, but I've been wanting to put more Muppet Songs on my iPhone! Songs/Albums I'm looking for are:
- Muppets Tonight: Kermit's version of Once in a Lifetime, Kermit's version of Dancing in the Dark, Gonzo's version of Dancing By Myself, Kermit and Tony Bennett singing...
Even if I have personal problems with KSY, I actually like Muppets From Space and all the Direct to DVD Movies.
And I do enjoy Muppets Tonight, but some things I didn't like.
Also I got into The Muppets because of D.C. Almost Live and still enjoy it..
Yeah guys, guess we gotta fire Eric too since Piggy's character is just horrendous lately.
And that's coming from someone who loves Piggy and hates her characterization now more than ever.
I seriously agree, Matt is doing amazing at Kermit.
And I've finally embraced that and I'm a true supporter of Matt now and what he will bring to the character and I love him.
I don't think any of that matters honestly. If it did, they would of done something about it. Like firing Steve during production. That's what happens to most celebrities/directors if they're giving everyone a hard time.
You're missing the point that it doesn't matter who's playing Kermit. Matt...
We can argue this all we want, but in the end, no one is right or wrong.
What's done is done and I've learned to accept that.
Even if I still don't agree with the Hensons or Disney on their decision, there was some reason to do it. Not just "oh if we pay the Hensons so they can get money for...
I think you need to go back a few pages because you're claiming that it was Steve's fault the 2015 show failed..which isn't the case.
The reason the 2015 failed was ABC and the direction it was going in. And that's coming from someone that actually watched it.
And what I'm trying to say is...
I said this on another forum but..
but I don't think The Muppets should try to do another TV Series. I wouldn't want them doing The Muppet Show Again ya know.
Appearances like the Hollywood Bowl proved that people love The Muppets because of nostalgia.
And if they tried to do another show...
As someone who watched the 2015 show, there were times where they had good ideas, but couldn't write them correctly.
However, when they switched showrunners, to me it got much better after Episode 10. I still praise the 2015 show for trying something different, and the mature themes worked in...
I think that's what made me so interested in their dynamic...because they were a fun and realistic couple at the same time. I liked both sides of the relationship..the non-serious and the serious.
And what someone said before, they basically had the same desire and goals, and that's something...
Okay I'm sorry, here's where all my useless knowledge comes into play.
As my two favorite characters, I've pretty much studied and researched their relationship through the years and here's what I gathered:
The Muppet Show:
Season 1 - 3: Kermit didn't care/accepted Piggy's feelings for him...
Yeah, that's what I've been saying for a while.
It seems like Matt either isn't comfortable or doesn't know how to give the right expressions to Kermit. In most cases, he looks dead or confused about what's going on. The same issue happened in the Hollywood Bowl, and I really hope he works on that.
Just watching them perform Rainbow Connection and followed by Magic Store really brings back that magic we've been missing from The Muppets since the 2015 show got cancelled.
Not saying the 2015 show wasn't amazing because I loved it, but doing shows like these gives me hope for the future of...
The writing is what needs to be fixed, and even watching the Hollywood Bowl and loving the way Matt did the songs, the dialogue and in-between song stuff felt very flat and lifeless to me. There was a part with Kermit and Piggy and it almost felt like something Kermit would say on The Muppet...
I wanted to comment my feelings on some of the recasts...
- I think the Newsman is fine. It does sound like Guy Smiley, but it doesn't bother me as much.
- Beaker's recast is fine as well. I don't think there's a huge problem recasting Beaker.
- I don't think I like Peter's Robin. It kind of...
After hearing Matt doing Rainbow Connection I was like...
...Steve who?
I apologize guys lol. Don't take that seriously as I'm still loyal to Steve.
But I'm glad The Muppets are continuing doing their thing without worrying about real life situations.
