Disney Channel Preps for Muppet "Mini Movies"

In Disney's defense Phillip, Disney was also once a company guided by creative genius. As frogboy4 pointed out, my observation wasn't meant to be viewed as criticism, it's merely a fact. Personally I am a big Disney fan, as you'll hear me say many times on the podcast :)

Disney Channel Preps for Muppet "Mini Movies"

That, and remember Dave Goelz was recently talking (via Gonzo) about some "really cool project" that was in development that might be coming out. "Could be a year from now, could be two years...probably more like a year." I can't say I've been 100% happy with the utilization of the Muppets by...

    Announcing the MuppetCast

Hey all, If you tried to listen to show #25 and got show #23, that was my bad. I had a mis-fire early this morning while posting. It should be fixed now, and it's on MuppetCast.com. OR, if you want to, delete and then re-subscribe to the MuppetCast. That's the only way I know of that'll...

    Announcing the MuppetCast

Thanks! I spent a lot of time listening and re-listening to the episode before I posted it, and while you're right, it is a bit shorter than usual, I think everything was well-paced in the episode. Thanks again for the feedback! If you liked show #24, you're gonna LOVE show #25 this week!

    Sept 24 next weekend!

Without spoiling anything, I can tell you that I do have a copy of the Phil Balsam re-write for Jerry Juhl (right, like that didn't spoil anything). I also have the Stephen Lynch song, although I don't know, something's never struck me quite right about that song. I can include it I guess, but...

Hey all, Well, I have a good feeling about this show. I'm starting to compile everything that I've been sent, both text and music. Thank you so much to everyone who's contributed! I may wait to post until Monday the 24th (just more fitting I think, plus I won't get back from Atlanta until...

    Sept 24 next weekend!

For a celebration of Jim's birthday next Sunday the 24th, I'm planning on putting together a special show. Anyone who wants to send me any Jim Henson/Muppeteer audio, or any other audio that would be good for the show, email it to me@muppetcast.com. Of course I'll credit any contributors in...

    Announcing the MuppetCast

Update: The "specialized show" next week - show #22 - will not be a character tribute show, although those will most certainly be coming soon. The show this week will feature a listener interview spot I did with two fine fellows who happen to be lMuppetCast listeners and who both do very cool...

    "Muppet, Music & Magic" Events

Well, keep in mind, Huntington was something of a phenomenon (do dooo dododo), and the upcoming showings, like the one at the Eastman house, are more of the norm for this tour. When this same exhibition was here in Columbus, it was a two-weekend event, but with nothing in the way of guest...

    Muppet Movie Rights Questions

Thanks! That is strange that they don't own the Muppets Take Manhattan. Here's a snippet from the Muppet Wiki: "The film was originally released by Tri-Star Pictures. Unlike the films that preceded it (The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and The Dark Crystal), this film was not produced...

    Muppet Movie Rights Questions

...can someone confirm with me that Disney does, in fact, own the rights to The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and Muppets Take Manhattan? I think Disney owns these, but I could be mistaken. Maybe they just own the distribution rights? Please help me define a clear picture here. Thanks!

SB you know I loved your site and what you provided for Muppet fans, and I agree that what happened is very sad. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the site for the short time that I knew it existed.
