Never. Apologies to Carlo Alban. This is what happens when one both hardly eats anything anymore and posts late at night due to insomnia courtesy of overwhemling stress about drowning in finances and soon running out of their measly unemployment benefits. Suffice to say, my mental faculties...
Remember Chris Alban? The preteen kid who was on SST as a regular cast member in the mid 90s (often in scenes with Lexine and Tarah?) He talks about his greatest fear during his time working on the show - that he would be discoverd as an undocumented immigrant. Very interesting read...
Since it hasn't been mentioned on Page Two yet, the email address to send votes to is mcforumvotingbooth@hotmail.com - we have three so far - need more!
Oh, i dearly miss Monty. He was used fairly well when he was on but they do need to bring him (and Herry!) back. Martin's best, funniest original character.
I tried to do that with Muppet Freak but after the job/finance fiasco, that's had to be put on a permanent hiatus until i have a decent job/disposable income again.
Hee hee - Herry's pants (in illustrations only) have long been one of those historic Muppet Mysteries! Even on one of the rare occasions where we "saw his legs" we didn't actually see his legs! That might be a good followup to the Oscar's trashcan lid-as-hat question in Jerrod's "?" series!
More detail in the Muppet Babies 20+ years later thread, but watching the Muppet Museum of Art episode for the first time in ages while i was dubbing videotapes to dvd. Kept rewinding/rewatching the Animal and the paddleball (immediately followed by the door slam in his face) scene and the...
Reminds me of this one time where i was in a long line in KFC and this one guy was just singing to himself about how he couldn't wait to eat some fried chic-KEN. It was like a bizarre commercial come to life!
...and now just finished transferring the Muppet Museum of Art episode which is another classic (and i've noticed tends to be the one most often cited when people recall their memories of watching the show: "the one with Piggy and the roller skate") "What would Nanny like? I've got it! An...
Okay, there's been a wide variety of major and minor characters on SST over the decades - but what are those super rare characters (modern or classic) that you would have loved to see used more?
For classic characters, my top choice is Salvador Dada. That was just one of Jim's all-time...
i'd venture to say a mixture of both methods based on whichever is easier (and how much future use they might get out of it)in the long run case-by-case. Characters like Kermit, Grover, Elmo and Gonzo are known to have their waist-up-only and with-legs counterparts whereas a lot of scenes with...
As i type, i've got "What's New at the Zoo?" dubbing from vhs to dvd in the background and i am laughing out loud at several parts. (And almost always at every Baby Animal scene - "WATER ballet!" "Deer Friend!")
Well first of all, you usually have a real good take on anything cartoon or comic related with a great background to back it up so i'd personally enjoy reading a review you wrote of them even if you were newer to the world (that in itself could be a bit fun, seeing a longtime Henson fan but...
Okay - now i'm actually intrigued! I like war and anything with Muppets (especially if it incorporates trivia which from the description, it sounds like it does) is made of win so this might be right up my alley.
Earlier this year, i saw Jimmy Fallon playing "Water War" with Ashton Kutcher...
And indeed "The Works" was also written by Finch...it some ways that in itself could be seen as a revision.
Of Muppets and Men (the book) was very much like the documentary of the same name in that even though they touched on the history leading up to it, they both were first and foremost...
Just to add a final point to my above post, i think things like the forum awards are very much a practical application of a self-fulfilling prophecy where people can either choose to be part of the solution or part of the problem.
If enough people choose to see them as cliques congratulating...
It comes down to how each webmaster sees their home. Some are only interested in the cute cuddly Muppets and the only things their site will ever only cover are Disney Muppets, Sesame, and Fraggles. (Muppet Mindset is in this category). Some sites on this end of the spectrum get so tainted...
Snowth - i see your nominations as being a case of "quality over quantity"
Heck, on a lot of forums - MC, TP, non-Muppet forums, you get some amount of people posting a whole bunch of stuff for the sole purpose of getting their "post count" up and in the process end up with a bunch of posts...
