MC Dorms: Sorry, We're Closed Take 2

(For room 7, it's been a long day.) Beige: (heading off to his and Scooter's room) Good night, ladies...good night, ladies...I'm going to leave you now...good night, silly creatures. (goes into room) Scooter: (yawning) I'll be amazed if anyone needs to count sheep or drink warm milk tonight - I...

    The RHLC!

You'll do fine, Sara - just remember those words on the cover of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic. We're all pulling for you here - remember to take some time to relax every now and then. As for the stuff about seizures, I've never heard of them being stress-induced. There's...

MC Dorms: Sorry, We're Closed Take 2

Beige: I don't like the way they portrayed Marvin. Sure, the voice was good, but the body was all wrong. Nora: Yeah, he was entirely too round and polished to fit with the Paranoid Android persona. Storyteller: Well, I thought it was rather nice the way they paired up Arthur and Trillian...

    The RHLC!

Yeah, that's why God invented the Friends of the Library and their annual book sales. 50 cents for paperbacks, a buck for hardcovers, or something. And the money goes to buy new books and computers, so it's all good. But around here, most of the libraries are part of one big regional system...

What song can you not get out of your head?

Two at the moment: "Say You, Say Me," by Lionel Richie "Journey of the Sorcerer", by Bernie Leadon (theme from "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy")

MC Dorms: Sorry, We're Closed Take 2

Erin: (reading Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) You guys should try Milliways. Nora: But only if you've done four impossible things today. Storyteller: No, I heard it was if you've done six impossible things this morning. Beige: Four, six, morning, day, it's the same thing. And what's all that...

    Read any good books lately?

Happens all the time - the movie is way different from the book it's based on. I just read, to name a few: "Mill on the Floss" by George Eliot and "Thursday Next: First Among Sequels" by Jasper Fforde. These days I'm working my way through "Time's Eye" by Arthur C. Clarke.

    The RHLC!

It is an issue, definitely. Even though library use is going through the roof with the economy being what it is, a lot of libraries are facing funding problems. I did a story a while back on how some of the libraries around here are coping with the jump in traffic. The director at one of them...

    Should The RHLC! be moved?

Well, obviously anything can happen between now and June 1, but judging from the poll it looks as if we'll be making the jump. Might as well break out the boxes...has anyone seen the packing tape? ;)

    The RHLC!

You know the feeling - all those books seem to start whispering "Read me...read me." And that can get a little expensive in a bookstore. I've never seen people shushing each other in a bookstore - but then, most of the people I see in bookstores tend to lower their voices anyway when they come...

MC Dorms: Sorry, We're Closed Take 2

(a few hours ago) (gang is heading up the street to the Fix-It Shop, lugging a large cardboard box) Beige: Boy, this thing weighs a ton. Why does it need to go into the shop anyway? Scooter: Problems with the motor. We took it out for a spin last night and it died. Nora: And with Memorial...

    The RHLC!

I have the same problem whenever I walk into a bookstore or the library. So many books, so little time. And if it's the bookstore, the amount of cash in my wallet is also a factor.

MC Dorms: Sorry, We're Closed Take 2

At Cold Comfort, the gang is splitting a Matterhorn - the parlor's newest giant sundae. Erin: Hi, Ed, come on in. Why don't you and your guys try one of these? They're enough for a group, and they've got five different flavors in them. Storyteller: Oh, isn't this nice, they put little plastic...

Who's Your Favorite/Least Favorite TMS Character?

My favorite is Scooter - he's been my favorite since I was little. I also like Gonzo, Beaker and the Electric Mayhem.

MC Dorms: Sorry, We're Closed Take 2

(gang is walking past) Beige: So what's the word? Are the dorms going to re-open? Nora: We'll have to wait and see - it'll be up to Ed and all that. Storyteller: Well, think of it this way - it gets everyone out and about, the dorms could get a spring cleaning... Scooter: So, are we all coming...

    19 Years Ago Today

Hear, hear. Here's to you Jim - you made the Muppets, and all the magic and silliness and weirdness, possible. (And I'm waiting for Sam the Eagle to say "You are all weirdoes!")

    The RHLC!

The whole walk was 6.2 miles, and it took us three hours. It wasn't just in Central Park - the route snaked around a huge chunk of the Upper West Side. Here's how it went: the start and finish lines were in the park, around 72nd St. At 10 o'clock, they sent us all up through the park to 112th...

    The RHLC!

Me too; I start collecting something, and then I quickly move on to something else. And welcome to the thread, JJandJanice - fer sure... My mom and I took part in the AIDS Walk yesterday in the city. It was lots of fun - although, yes, my feet were hurting by the time we came back to...

What kind of cellular phone do you own?

My phone's a Motorola something or other. It just makes phone calls and has a calculator function, which is all I require of it.

Question about Recasting Sweetums in the 1980s...

Yeah, Richard clearly loved playing Sweetums, but wearing all that weight of harness and burlap and foam has to get a little hard on your back after a while. I just wonder if Richard decided to give the role up on his own or whether his doctor advised him to. Muppet performers really get run...
