Sesame Street Season 49 Episode 4930 - Counting Critters

Ok, finally saw this episode and all I have to say is...yes, more episodes like this please! For some reason, the stories about Ernie and Bert tend to be the funniest, and most well structured. The beginning definitely felt like a classic sketch with the two of them, and I miss those.

    Ratings for Sesame Street?

The show's ratings have gone down due to competition over the years, but that doesn't mean they get bad numbers. The smaller number of episodes has to do with budget cuts, rather than viewership. And yes, Sesame Workshop has stated that HBO did save them from death, as PBS couldn't pay them anymore.

New Sesame Street movie in development with Warner Bros.

What doesn't make sense to me is, they're making SST out to be this hidden, magical land, when it's always been portrayed as a pretty realistic NY street.

New Sesame Street movie in development with Warner Bros.

Oh, and more plot details... "In the movie, directed by Jonathan Krisel, Big Bird and his Sesame Street friends are mysteriously expelled from their neighborhood, finding themselves in Manhattan. They team up with a plucky history show host Sally Hawthorne who’s on a quest to save her show and...

It's kind of odd really. Professional male chefs are highly revered, but regular average men cooking is still sometimes seen as unusual.

Video: Sesame Street Live on NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

That was nice. Too bad Oscar and The Count weren't part of the actual concert since they have so many great songs, but that's a minor thing. The set was a bit more varied than I was expecting; didn't expect Sing After Me or the Pinball Number Count.
