    Custom Kermoot Moopet

It's hard to comment on the sculpting of the figure for two reasons. 1) I don't know what the real "Kermoot" looks like except for one grainy pic of a T-shirt image and 2) the video you shot doesn't help much. In basic camera terms, what you've done is called BACKLIGHTING. You put the object...

New Anamorphic Widescreen of Very Merry Muppet Christmas

Haha... if I recall correctly, I bought my Standard copy last year off eBay because I couldn't find it anywhere. Wish I'd done my research better (my usual lament!) AN

New Anamorphic Widescreen of Very Merry Muppet Christmas

I didn't know this was out, so please move if this is old news, but I was at a K-mart last night and saw VMX on DVD for $10, and unlike my old copy, this one is widescreen. Very happy with this purchase! Alex

A Real Dearth Nadir Action Figure Is Coming!

Last time I heard from my liaison at Disney, he said "closer to when the film comes out". So I would say, they could show up anytime this month or next. Alex

    Dearth/Alex's Customs and Dioramas v2

I use various methods... just sort of whatever each custom calls for. Sorry I've been quiet lately. As some of you know, I've been working on a Ghostbusters costume for Halloween. Maybe soon I can get back around to Muppets... But in the meantime, here's a little gem from almost ten years ago...

    Custom figures and dioramas

The brand name is actually spelled Sculpey, with an E. I don't know for sure what Christian uses, but I prefer the third version, called Super Sculpey, for my own sculpting projects. Regular Sculpey is white and the texture is sort of creamy. Super Sculpey is pink and feels more like plasticine...

That's probably the best fan-made Bobo I've seen. I've always been afraid to even try one. How does his height compare to Fozzie? Alex

    Custom figures and dioramas

Nope, it wasn't a Star Wars item. I don't know much about it really. My parents have a couple of plastic bins of restaurant premiums in their junk room. Some of the toys in there date to when my college-age niece and nephews were kids, and some are from meals they bought for my kids in the last...

Amazing work as always, Christian. That Walter looks perfect. If you do start to sell figures, please let me know! Alex

Knickerbocker Ernie and Bert "action figures"

Yeah, I actually already had a Cookie Monster (minus the apron and hat) and a Big Bird (whose neckerchief and vest I removed) but didn't realize they were all part of the same 'Play With Me' group. http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Play_With_Me_dolls The Muppet Wiki entry has since been updated...

    Great SKEKSIS costume!

Contacts would have to be cheaper than whatever they spent on the costumes. Alex

    Dearth/Alex's Customs and Dioramas v2

Just took these pics out in my front yard, enjoy! (Cut-and-pasted from four pics to clone the jeep and remove the houses across the street) (just a test shot... I'm undecided on how to disguise the real JP logos on the vehicle toys) (this pic and the one above are totally unretouched)...

Yes, Rebelscum's forums came back online earlier than anticipated, and it looks like I won't even have to re-do any of the links. Whew! Alex

Who's the best singer out of the Henson Muppeteers?

Yeah, I have to agree. As far as the male Muppet performers go, Jerry and Richard were the ones that popped to mind as 1st and 2nd. And Louis Gold has an AMAZING voice. She's easily the top female Muppeteer singer in my estimation. Did you see the memorial service for Jim, when she sang "Bring...

    Dearth/Alex's Customs and Dioramas v2

Just a little heads-up... the forum at Rebelscum.com where all of my photos are uploaded is going to be undergoing a server change later today, hopefully coming back online at its new location on Friday. Not sure if that will turn all of my old photos into little red X's or what, so bear with...

    Dearth/Alex's Customs and Dioramas v2

I have contemplated a Gonzo-as-Dickens custom before. That's another of those reasons that I had a Kermit tophat molded so I could have copies cast. Hadn't thought of doing Rizzo, but that's a good idea since I have the extra Cabin Boy sets. ~~~ Dug out some of my old Jurassic Park toys today...

Another video of how the photos get manipulated after they're taken... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPjLq6daMp8 I thought this shot was complete in-camera, but once I got to looking at all of the distant little details that needed fixing, it kept snowballing until I had completely changed...

Good news! I found the PERFECT thing to use for the Bossmen's eyes! They're not painted yet, so I haven't glued them in place, but I was so happy with their size, shape, low weight, and low price, that I had to snap a picture of the test fit. And what, you are no doubt wondering, are...
