"Picture a World" from Julie on Sesame Street

One source (the Lyrics' page possibly?) says the song was performed on the show by Bob (even though it was Gordon and Susan who sang it on the album.)

    Whatever happened to Roosevelt Franklin?

Put it all together and smooth it out And that's what reading's all about!

In search of "Some of Us are Here"

Bert also shows up in this, IIRC. And I would love to see this one as well, but my search has come up empty so far.

    Does anyone remember Alphabet Chat?

It's interesting... I had completely forgotten about these bits, which I now believe ran quite a bit back in my day... until I saw this thread, and that theme music popped right back into my head. In fact, that music is basically all I remember... that and, at the start, while the music played...

This thread is brought to you by the letter U!

I remember two versions of that skit... the version on the show had Cookie Monster singing "Tiptoe Thru the Tulips" (just like the Ape in the animated "A" sketch)... but on the album Ernie's Hits (possibly because of royalty issues) he sings "Looky looky looky, here comes Cookie."

Did the Two-Headed Monster ever have names?

Well, I don't get it, and I'm SITTING in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan as we speak. How much more inside can you get?;)

    This is confusing me

To get this back on topic, the show began its 30th season in 1998, so that's what they called their "30th anniversary" (common for TV shows) -- the actual 30th anniversary, of course, wouldn't be until the END of the 30th year, or the start of the 31st, in 1999.

    Sesame Street censorship

I guess they changed it for rerelease, because I did remember the word "put."

    Sesame Street censorship

I just heard the song, and my memory was a bit faulty... it's actually "I'll tell him where to LEAVE his toys." That SOUNDS a bit better, but in truth, it's just as bad. ;)

    Music question

Does anyone know if the slowed-down harmonica version of the main theme that used to be played over the opening scene ever came out in the clear? IE, the master recording, either on an official release, or unofficially and on the trading circuit?

    Early Sesame Street

Sadly, I really have nothing to trade, but I've longed for ages to see Sesame Street Episode #1. If there's anyone out there that would do a deal for blank tape, CD's, etc, out of the goodness of their hearts, please email me. Failing the first episode, other episodes from the first couple of...

    Classic Canadian Sesame Street

There were two songs in particular that I remember from Canadian Sesame Street. One was called "Des Heureux" (Clocks), and showed a bunch of still photos of clocks. The other I was thinking of was about bees, and the song went "Who goes from flower to flower... a bee, a bee, abeille... who works...

    Sesame Street censorship

A line I'm surprised got through to begin with was in Oscar's song "I Hate Christmas" from "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street." (Referring to Santa:) "I'll tell him where to put his toys"

    Rhyming Song

My favorite all-time sketch was the similar "Some... and None" starring Manah Manah... if anyone could point me in the direction of a copy, I'd be most appreciative.

What sketches scared you as a kid?

First, I'll get out of the way that this is my first post. Anyway, one SS sketch that creeped me out somewhat was the one where Bert and Ernie (I think) are having problems with their TV... it does nothing but show the letter "H", and a voice says "H...H...H...H...H" over and over again. That...
