I'm happy to see the Muppets doing anything, even if it is only to play off the current crop of Disney 'tween stars. I do think it's rather tacky that they introduce them as 'The Muppets' instead of 'Jim Henson's Muppets,' though.
Thanks very much to everyone for their opinions. If anyone else feels like throwing their two cents in, please go ahead.
The 'secret identity' thing seems like a good idea, but then again, it kinda bothers me to have to express my opinions under an assumed name.
I'll definitely give...
LOL..! Thanks! Guess I'm not the only John Kennedy fan here.
No offense to Bill by the way, it's just that I think different puppeteers are better for certain characters. Pepe & BoBo are both awesome in my opinion!
It was standard 'Muppet Show' fare. Raquel did a couple of songs, one was with Piggy (who didn't like Raquel AT ALL). At one point Raquel invited Fozzie up to her room, & he asked her if he could bring his mother along. That's about as 'edgy' as it got.
There's no core Muppet group? Look back through all the films & tell me who the stories centered around: Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo.
I wouldn't extole the virtues of the writing on 'Muppets Tonite,' that show was cancelled, after all.
Parodies ARE rip-offs, plain & simple, no matter...
Here's my story: I'm a 46-yr old guy living in a trailer in TN. I've worked in tv & films. I was a background puppeteer on 'Muppets From Space.'
I would love to get on here & start posting regularly. I have a lot of thoughts on the Muppets, lots of opinions on which direction I feel they...
Bill Baretta..
I met Bill briefly on the set of 'Muppets From Space,' he seemed to be a very nice guy. I was a background puppeteer on the film. He & Brian are pals. Pepe is a funny character & so is Bobo the bear. I'm not crazy about Bill's versions of Rowlf or Dr. Teeth, though. John...
Muppet Flops..
The Muppets need to STOP doing their versions of other peoples' films. Whenever I see anyone doing a parody I think, 'Okay they're not smart enough to come up with a premise of their own, so they're going to rip off someone else's idea.'
The Muppets need to STOP trying to be...
Oh okay, thanks Kim! Coulda sworn the little guy was yellow-orange, my bad. The shade of green they used on the figure seems awfully bright, maybe that's what's throwing me off.
Hey! Actually I'm not sure what his name is, but I think Gonzo refers to him as "Lester DeZwango' when he & the director are commenting on the film.
And yes, he is holding a camera in the scene I performed him in. And his eyes do blink, quite a feat considering he doesn't have eye-lids...
Hello! I just joined this site. I worked as a background puppeteer on 'Muppets From Space.' I performed Lester DeZwango (from Muppets Tonight) in the crowd scene when Gonzo gets off the bus at the beach.
