I have a confession. I think Scooter's role in the Muppet Movie was awkward and felt forced.
With everyone else that joined Kermit, they had a great moment and scene unique to them, and most got their own musical number.
Fozzie: He bonded with Kermit st the El Sleazo and had Movin Right Along...
I can understand that opinion, but the way I see it. The 2011 film did serve as a transitional production, which brought back a lot of great characters that have continued to be used since, such as Uncle Deadly, Lips, Link Hogthrob, etc.
I'm optimistic about Matt's Kermit. It's not perfect but I think for a first appearance it was pretty good. We've already seen other characters take a while to improve after recasting. I'm thinking of Eric's performances of Fozzie and Piggy, which have greatly improved over the years. I'm...
I've finished my series on Eras in Muppet History! I'd love to know what you all think!
The Beginning Era (1955-1969)
The Fairy Tale Era (1969-1974)
The Prime Time Era (1975-1981)
The Post-Muppet Show Era (1982-1990)
The Post Henson Era (1990-2000)
The Recasting Era (2000-2008)
Off the top of my head, they could have included him as the waitor on Kermit and Piggy's date. Then he would have joined them along with Rowlf. As much as I loved the Steve Martin cameo, they could have included him somewhere else.
I never minded that with Rowlf, but I always thought it was odd how they included Scooter. He was just thrown in with the Electric Mayhem, even though he's never before or since been identified as their road manager. He doesn't get any specific scenes or particularly memorable lines. For a...
Not to sound disrespectful to your opinion, but I think that's a little unfair. That argument would make more sense for a movie, when you only have a few hours of screen time to spread around. The great thing about having a TV series is that you can have a large number of characters, because...
I've started a blog called "Brainstorming with Brian". I'm going to be writing about a bunch of different, random stuff. To start things off, I've been working on a project called "Eras in Muppet History", which is something I've mentioned here in a few posts. Basically I broke down...
I'm guessing most of you have seen this, but if you haven't, it's a video with Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and Michael Frith talking about the core characters, both in their personality and in the puppet designs.
One thing I found interesting is that when Frank Oz is talking about Animal, he mentions...
Yes, I have a similar theory about Rita and Lord Zedd
I think that Rita was born with a great amount of energy/powers, as we've seen her be able to perform magic. My theory is that she was kidnapped and raised as evil by Master Vile. This would explain why Master Vile and Rito look similar, but...
Definitely check out the podcast, I listen to it on my commute to and from work.
You mean turning them good? Yeah in the finale of Power Rangers in Space "Countdown to Destruction", Zordon's death caused the "Z-Wave" which turned Rita, Zedd, Divatox, and Astronema/Karone back into good humans...
