I know you didn't say anything about Richard, but Scooter is Richard, so to speak, in the sense that Scooter is most like him. The fact that you mentioned about Scooter being the young kid is much the same way as Richard was the young kid on the Muppet crew. I still felt this sense of Richard even in the poem that wasn't about him.
