I am a bit perturbed that NO ONE HERE seems yet to have mentioned the great master's passing this week. Come on, guys! The dude practically invented dark fantasy!! A little respect for the Original, now!
For the obit:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/06/ray-bradbury-dead-dies-at-91_n_1573849.html

For CBS newsman Don Swaim's unedited interviews with the author:
http://www.wiredforbooks.org/mp3/RayBradbury1992.mp3

http://www.wiredforbooks.org/mp3/RayBradbury1993.mp3

And...of course...the video which purportedly Bradbury himself saw and laughed at (discretion advised for language and general hilarious crudity):

(whoops...the full title showed up. Just go to youtube and type in "F* me Ray Bradbury". Trust me. It's hysterical.)

Ya know he's gotta be out there having one heckuva adventure right now. Soar, man, soar!

So he DID die?

I overheard something on the tv that SOMEONE died, but I couldn't tell if it was him for sure.

That is sad. I've only read the Illustrated Man and Fahrenheit 451, but I really liked both of those books

Since you like darker things, try the story collections "The October Country" and "Long After Midnight." Like I said...original.

He's dead?! No... no.. no! I am a huge sci-fi fan and love his works. Rest in peace, Ray Bradbury. The world will never forget you.

I'm afraid the closest I got to him was the Cliff Notes for Farenheit 451, but I can appreciate him more now.

I find it very ironic that the whole idea of Fahrenheit 451 is about the banning of books, yet the book is widely banned by schools :stick_out_tongue:

Still? How funny. Yeah, I was in charge of store displays for Banned Book Month one year. Had a lot of fun with the research for that. Dang, now I wish I'd rigged up a tv/dvd to continuously play the movie version of "451"...that would have been awesome!
