Yeah... I really hope Danny can fix it.Andddddddd were back to posting on here as if the site didn't exist because well "WE CAN'T POST ON THE SITE!!!"
Good point on location. We might not be able to go to Greenville, if that's where we end up going. That's a sad, but true thought.See now, while your points are indeed very valid, I actually think Atlanta is a good plan B. The Puppetry school is there and it'd be a heck of a lot cheaper too.
Something you have to consider, though, is no matter where we hold this....it's going to be hard for someone to get there. There is no magic portal or perfectly central and relevant location for us all to converge on. Sadly, that's just the breaks. That's not even taking into account anyone overseas who would be interested.....NOT that anyone would do that just yet on this small scale project but eventually.
I understand what you're saying but I think that no matter where we go, someone's gonna have to try twice if not three times as hard to get there.
Also, some sites I've been on before have a rotating header. (Don't kill me if this isn't the exact technical term!) Basically, everytime you refresh the page, the header image changes. You have several and it just keeps cycling between them. That is something we can do if we want....and can figure out the technology behind it. Can't be that hard, right?
That or when we get more sections put up, each section could have its own header. How cool would that be?!
And also, I love that rotating header idea. We could use some original art for them too, like our logos. Bandit, your really have some great ideas!
True... I understand.
I would like to do it in Greenville, but New York would be closer for me. Just wanted to suggest it. If you would all agree, then that would be great. But if I really want to go, I'll have to fly to Greenville. (I have no idea how much that costs).
Anyhoo, if the city of Greenville DOES say yes, what date are you planning to do it. Like I said above, I think early July is a good time, I think we'll get a good show-up then.
I think we WERE shooting for mid summer. And you know what, pally?! We are family and if it looked like you needed help to get there...I'd help ya! I'm sure loads of us would. ^_^ Rooms can be shared as well as meals. No worries.
I think before we have a definite date, though, it'd be good to see what Greenville has to say. It may be possible that they say 'Well we can work something out but it would be around THIS time because we can offer this or that.' etc. Know what I mean?
I feel like I'm rambling incoherently here.
Tell you the truth, I'm not too sure a summer date would work. That is if we wanted to coincide with the new movie. Nick Stoller has already said upfront a summer release is a little unpredictable for a movie that's in it's most early writing stages now. I say, if we did want to coincide, we should shoot for more of an October/November date. Though, I'm pretty fond of the Jim Henson's birth/death date ideas than anything. With a date like that, it would surely honor Jim himself. But before we decide anything we should hear Greenville's reply. Now once we do get word from Greenville, though, choosing a date would be a definite Phase 3. After that would be more of, what would we do/screen there and guests. At least, that would be my game plan.
